These hi-hats are pretty nice. I origianally wanted Paiste hi-hats but I ended up with these, and I am glad. But there are a few things I don't really like about it. One thing is that when you play it all the way closed, it has a little emptiness sound. But its not nearly as bad as the Sabian B8 14" Hi-hats. But it sounds great when its opened. And in my opinion the best sound out of it, is when its bariley opened. Thats the golden spot. So if you play closed a lot don't get it, but if you play open a lot like me, definatly get it.

Okay to start off, these hi hats do have some Pros to Them. Like the fact that if you're a beginner and dont have much cash on you, these might be the best affordable hi-hats you can get. Aside from that, at a beginners skill level, these will sound like heaven compared to the ZBT's, Planet Z, and all other cheap standard issues. No the cons, there are many of those, once you're at a more advanced level, you realize that these have a ring to them that is annoying and over bearing. Also, when they are open, you are expecting a nice swish but you get annoying over-tones. Advice, go for some A customs and something from Sabian.

        I enjoy these.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I've been using these cymbals for 3 and a half years now, I bought the original "ZXT Rock Pack" when it came out and when the Titanium ones were all the rage (even though they had no tone). I have since upgraded every cymbal I have had except for this pair of hats. I would never get rid of them, they may not be handcast, but they are some of the best sounding I've ever played. Never cracked. I play every style. Recommend it.

theres some ZBT that sond better than these!

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I had these for more than two years and I never got used to the sound the response. These will affect your playig ability, your musical enjoyment. Why? First of all, they're way too heavy in mass, not in a musical sense, they don't rock. Probably if you play 80s rock ballads. The bottom hat is as heavy as a Z custom dyno beat hat, don't get me wrong, Z customs are of good quality, and sound good, compared to the ZXTs. Provably they only made those to make some extra cash.

        'Aint no sin, Zildjian again!

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I have owned these hi-hats for about 2 years. I play them several times a week. I havent broken or cracked them. I dont thrash as hard as some players. When played "normaly" they are very versitle for most kinds of music. They are a little "Clangy" when played open. The hammered finish is complementary to any drum kit. They are a tremendous value for hi-hats in this price range, I recommend them if you are on a budget. If you are a pro, look to the next level.

        Cracked In 4 Months!!!!!

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I bought the zxt rock hi-hat pair about 4 months ago. I hit hard, but not too hard. Just the other day when I was practicing with my band I noticed that the top hi-hat had a crack about an inch in from the edge. NOT DURABLE. Maybe i'm just unlucky?

        Awesome hats

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

The ZXT's sound incredible. I have the 14" pair. They have great stick definition and make just the right splashy sound that I love. I've had them for 1 year and still sound good. Some of the best hats I've ever used.

        great hi hats

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I've had these hi hats for about a month now and I am very impressed. They sound great and they are pretty heavy. My only gripe is they are very hard to get a sloshy sound tough. And as I have already said, they are heavy so you better have a heavy hi hat stand to support them or else they will hold down the rod and will always be closed even if you don't want them to.

These hi-hats are very crisp and high-pitched. No odd ringing is heard after hitting them. They sound professional. Definitely a bang for your buck.
