I got this with my very first kit, along with the other rock cymbals with the ZXT line. This ride has volume, but you only need to hit it a few times and all hell breaks loose. Stick definition ceases to exist and it's more of a loud pangy noise. Decent for the price, but I'd suggest to save up for a better ride. Just my opinion.

Good cymbal, only one thing that I don't like

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is a rather nice cymbal, but has a few things I don't prefer. It has a pretty good amount of stick definition to it, which I love, and has a nice, sustaining tone. The only thing I don't like about this cymbal is the bell. The after tones just don't sound good, plain and simple. If they came out with a version that had a more cutting bell, I would definitely buy it. The cymbal sounds great in the mix, it's just the bell that I can't stand. Who knows though, you may or may not like it. The only way to find out is to go to your local shop and try one out.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I received this ride about a year ago w/ the ZXT Rock cymbal pack. It definatly looks good but is not very loud. I ended up using an old Zildjian rock ride that i got for free. Now this is used as a secondary ride.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

This cymbal is a great deal. Its clean and cutting, with a little bit of a cold, dank feel, perfect for any rock setting. It's the perfect affordable ride, except that the bell is a little weak, and the ride is very ringy (I had to put tape on the uderside). Other that that is is a quality instrument.

Not the best

By drumMaster

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I just got this cymbal today, which I ordered in the ZXT pack and I have to say it wasn't too great. I was really dissapointed with the bell. You could even call it wimpy, I could barely hear it. It has an OK sound when you are hitting the ride part of the cymbal at first, but I found that it rings out too long and it began to annoy me.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

Well I bought this cymbaol actualy a while ago. I had the whole ZXT series for a year or two then moved up to zildjian A customs. I recently got out this ride and was amzined by the sound of it. I was planning on buying a zcustom ride of some sort but not anymore. They sound very similar. This cymbol has a nice ping sound and the bell is ok. This cymbol fits really nicely with all of my other A customs so I put it right back into my cymbal set up.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

This ride is great if your a alternative or metal drummer. This ride is not for bell riders, so don't even bother with that if ur a bell rider. The sustain is great, the overtones are very fulfilling. If your going to buy this cymbal don't but the rock pack with it, just buy it individually. This will sound better than some Z Customs and A Customs. It's great!

Recieved this 20" rock ride in the ZXT cymbal pack about a month ago. This ride rings for a while but gets the job done. Overall a good deal.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I was lucky enough to get a sweet deal on this ride. I was very happy when I played it. It has a clear ping to it, and a loud high-pitch bell. It does ring out a bit long, but not to where it's a problem or annoyance. It will last you a long time though; it is heavy, durable, and can take hard hitting. However, this cymbal indeed fits its title; it only really works for rock, specifically loud rock. So look elsewhere if you want a more broadly applicable cymbal.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I've had this cymbal for about a year now. It's an OK cymbal. It sounds great for softer music (like jazz, even though it's called the Rock Ride) but when I play it with my band, it gets severely drowned out by the guitars. If your looking for an alright ride and have a very tight budget or just don't want to spend money, buy this, other than that...

Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

When I bought this cymbal, I was looking for a very loud, pingy, heavyweight ride cymbal for heavy rock music. I sort of got what I wanted with the ZXT Rock. The main body of the cymbal is fairly loud, with EXTREMELY long sustain. I timed it once, and with only one strike of the stick the cymbal rings on for something like 16-17 seconds. It can be very loud if you want it to be, but if you're a bell player, this is not your cymbal. I was not impressed with the bell on this cymbal. When playing live it can barely even be heard unless heavily miked. I would only suggest this cymbal if you want what I've been talking about: huge sustain, loud ping and a quiet bell.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

For the price it is a great buy, I have had it for about 5 months now and it gets the job done. If you are looking for a good bell don't buy it but other than that it has a solid ride sound for a good price.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I own this ride and wasnt expecting it to be like the zildjian k's, but it does the job. I got a great deal on it too at my local music shop so it's all in all a great cymbal for the price. For the budget drummer. If you got money to spare, get some K customs.

Limited range but not too bad overall.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

I picked this up on eBay so I wasn't expecting much. It turns out I got a decent pie, but it's limited in what it works for. It has a real short attack, and for me, works great as a left side ride. Medium high pitch, not much sustain, fairly dry. That's the good stuff. On the down side, I don't get the glowing reviews of the bell because to me it sounds dead and slightly muffled. Also, don't plan on getting subtleties out of this beast, it's thick and solid, stick character is pretty much uniform across the entire surface. Undertones start the moment you play it and literally go on forever. They're very low pitched and not too bad, but definitely noticable. You can literally go get a beer, have a burger, come back, and this puppy will still be humming. All in all; not a bad cymbal, but not a great one either. It adds a sound I was missing so for now it's a keeper, but I'm already looking for a replacement.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Rock Ride Cymbal:

Ive had this Ride for about a month and I have to say that for the price, it was pretty good. The bell could be better, but that's something I can cope with. All in all, this is a great buy for any rock drummer.
