Please notice that everyone who actually marks their experience with this cymbal as, "I own it" has given it a very good review... there is a reason for this. The ZXT series is an excellent product, but has a lot of overtone, meaning that if you hit this cymbal dry, it sounds horrible. But if you just give your bass drum a good whack at the same time (which if you've been drumming for any longer than six days, you should already be doing) the cymbal sounds just fine. Play the cymbal with a band accompanying you and all the overtone disappears and you're left with a rich, gorgeous sound that projects into the back of the room. That's why I own an entire set of these.

Sounds like an open hi hat cymbal not a crash. No body no force just the same high pitch ringing of hitting a zxt top hi hat open. I bought it to add on to my other zxts and its horrible. I should have got it for free since i bought the zxt pack here. It promised a free 14 inch zxt crash with mail in rebate. But get this the rebate had an experation date and it was expired when i got the pack! So i had to pay full price for it.Anyway I tried using it in some riffs with my band and just doesnt sound good. I think the sabian b 8 14 inch thin crash is way better and i love zildjian cymbals. Its sitting to the side in brand new condition. Thats how bad it is. What a waste of money and it hurts to see this is a zildjian product.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
i bought this the other day to add a faster and more subtle crash to my set up and so far im happy with it it does have a bad overtone but you wont notice it unless you hit it by its self it doesnt cut thru loud mixes well but thats not what i was lookin for it sounds good when hit with other cymbals to add a fuller crash sound overall if your on a budget and are lookin for a thin crash this is for you im happy with my purchase
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
Well, I bought this cymbal for a second crash cymbal to go along side my other 16 inch zildian cymbal. This cymbal looks nice, and at first it'll sound fine. But after a few sessions of using it, you'll start to notice how quiet it is. I hit it as hard as possible once and it matched the volume of hitting a different cymbal with average strength. Then during one of my drum lessons about 3-4 months after buying it, my drum teacher noticed a fairly large crack circling right around the bell. All in all, it's ok for the price, but don't expect to have it for a while. I'm gonna just save up and buy some A Series Zildians next time.
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
I own, what I think are the best cymbals from Zildjian, the A Custom series. I have a 6" splash, a 10" splash, a 16" crash, an 18" crash, and an 18" China... I thought I'd try something outside of the box and get something cheaper to see how it would play with my cymbals. And when I play the ZXT with my A Customs, it sounds like a church bell... I'm not sayin it's a bad cymbal, it's just WAY different than my A Customs... Just a warning to all you trying to get a new kind of cymbal like me...
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
This is a a great cymbal. Ive had it for a little under a year. It has very bright sound to it. It has some overtone to it, but it makes it sound good because of it brightness. I dont recommend hitting hard because it can dent if you hit it really hard, but then again it is a thin cymbal, but over its great for all drummmers.
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
I got this back when they were 65$. I figured I would get it. Well I play alot of heavy stuff, and still use this. It has a VERY quick decay, and is easily lost in the mix. That being said, all of my other crashes are Z Customs, and made for volume, so its nothing against this. I am surprised at how well it has held up, and also it does not make a bad bottom hi-hat either.
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
I got the 14in. ZXT Thin Crash today for free when I bought a ZXT pack off of eBay. Since I got it free, it was definitely a great deal. The sound of this cymbal is kind of like a china-splash sound (it sounds like a china a bit, but the sound is very quick). So overall, a great cymbal.
Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:
The 16" cymbal is a great buy. I bought about three years ago and it withsanded a lot of pounding. It recently cracked ,and because I liked it so much, I will be getting a new one. If you continue to hit it hard, after a couple years it will crack. Overall an Awesome cymbal!

I got this cymbal about 2 years ago. I was not a fan of it for about a year. Now I use this cymbal quite a bit. It is bright with short sustain, which is great. It has held up very well, no signs of stress or cracks. Good for just about any genre.
