OVERVIEW

Developed in the Zildjian Sound Lab for versatility, durability, and sonic brilliance.

The Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal puts out a smooth crash sound with a fast decay. The ZXT Series offers more distinct models than any previous Zildjian sheet bronze selection. Each reflects unique lathing lines and distinctive hammering patterns designed to accentuate their sound properties. They look different because they sound different, because they are different. But the bright, powerful voice they share – the ZXT alloy- is as mighty as any Zildjian.

Note: For ZXT Titanium series cymbals, use only water and/or water based window cleaners such as glass cleaner. Dry thoroughly after wiping with a damp cloth and watch your cymbals shine!

  • Smooth crash

Please notice that everyone who actually marks their experience with this cymbal as, "I own it" has given it a very good review... there is a reason for this. The ZXT series is an excellent product, but has a lot of overtone, meaning that if you hit this cymbal dry, it sounds horrible. But if you just give your bass drum a good whack at the same time (which if you've been drumming for any longer than six days, you should already be doing) the cymbal sounds just fine. Play the cymbal with a band accompanying you and all the overtone disappears and you're left with a rich, gorgeous sound that projects into the back of the room. That's why I own an entire set of these.

Sounds like an open hi hat cymbal not a crash. No body no force just the same high pitch ringing of hitting a zxt top hi hat open. I bought it to add on to my other zxts and its horrible. I should have got it for free since i bought the zxt pack here. It promised a free 14 inch zxt crash with mail in rebate. But get this the rebate had an experation date and it was expired when i got the pack! So i had to pay full price for it.Anyway I tried using it in some riffs with my band and just doesnt sound good. I think the sabian b 8 14 inch thin crash is way better and i love zildjian cymbals. Its sitting to the side in brand new condition. Thats how bad it is. What a waste of money and it hurts to see this is a zildjian product.

Why the ZXT is worth your time

I was hoping for a cymbal that was a faster response. This one will work but if I find a better one I will end up using it for a HH top.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:

One reviewer already nailed it, "sounds like a church bell". The bell/gong-ish overtone doesn't do it for me. Some reviewers have stated that it doesn't sound too bad if its not played on its own. I don't agree. If you have to hit other drums or cymbals at the same time to mask the sound of this cymbal then you're just masking the poor sound of the cymbal. I should have tried it out at the store before I bought it.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:

Zildjian has great products and at the price that I paid for this cymbal it is fantastic. The tone variation accross the face is great and it has good sustain. From the rim to the middle it can be loud, depending on the strike. At the center it has a bell-like tone that is fantastic for fill or ride, without being overbearing. It does well with brushes, too.

i bought this the other day to add a faster and more subtle crash to my set up and so far im happy with it it does have a bad overtone but you wont notice it unless you hit it by its self it doesnt cut thru loud mixes well but thats not what i was lookin for it sounds good when hit with other cymbals to add a fuller crash sound overall if your on a budget and are lookin for a thin crash this is for you im happy with my purchase

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:

I own, what I think are the best cymbals from Zildjian, the A Custom series. I have a 6" splash, a 10" splash, a 16" crash, an 18" crash, and an 18" China... I thought I'd try something outside of the box and get something cheaper to see how it would play with my cymbals. And when I play the ZXT with my A Customs, it sounds like a church bell... I'm not sayin it's a bad cymbal, it's just WAY different than my A Customs... Just a warning to all you trying to get a new kind of cymbal like me...

I got this as a "deal of the day", so i am happy with it. If i had paid full list price, i would have been disappointed with quality. My son likes it, and we are slowly building up his kit, so it is fine for now.

Yeah, I've had this cymbal since I began drums. Even when I didn't have a cymbal bag to carry it it, and even after it's been tossed across the room, stepped on, and hit as hard as it could be hit, It's extremely durable, hasn't cracked a bit, and has a sweet heavy tone. For those who play rock.

i have an 18" ZXT Rock Crash. i was going to get the 16" to go w/ it... but Guitar Center was out of it, only had this one (the thin 16") so i just got that.it sounds better than the rock version. but the rock version is slightly stronger.i guess if you hit harder, go w/ rock. it sounds good, but i say this one sounds better.

I got this cymbal about 2 years ago. I was not a fan of it for about a year. Now I use this cymbal quite a bit. It is bright with short sustain, which is great. It has held up very well, no signs of stress or cracks. Good for just about any genre.

Comments about Zildjian ZXT Thin Crash Cymbal:

This cymbal is cheap! Which is a VERY good thing. mine broke after about a month, it inverted. I'm guessing it inverted because it's thin, so I'm not complaining about that, but it also dents, when you DON'T hit it with the side of your stick, it'll leave little dents on the top of the cymbal, not on the edge. It has a nice sound, but if you do anything that could possible mess up the sound, it will. Again, this is a good cymbal for beginners, and good for people on a low budget. I would go with A Custom Projection Crash to get an even better sound and stronger cymbal for only a little more money.

I own the 18 and the 16 Zxt thin crashes. There pretty good if your into Metal or anything hardcore or whatever. They have a really dark sound and take a while to get used too. Ive had them for about a year nothings cracked yet and there in pretty good shape. Word.

Very loud cymbal.Doesnt give you a warm crash sound too it. Sounds like a steele plate with a echo. The best beat is to buy a Zildjian Avedis 16in thin crash.

I see that other people like this cymbal, but I hate it. It came with a ZXT set I got and I don't know, I just don't like the sound. It's literally dry and rings out too long. I was finally able to sell it.

Best cymbal I have ever owned. Period. I beat the crap out of my kit and this thing hasn't snapped (Like the A series one I bought with it did). It sounds great and is actually pretty loud for how small it is. Keeps up with my 18 inch crashes. I play punk/metal, so I can see how it wouldn't sound the best for jazz, but...if you play any rock, this is the best deal I have ever seen on a cymabal under 1 bill.

The 16" cymbal is a great buy. I bought about three years ago and it withsanded a lot of pounding. It recently cracked ,and because I liked it so much, I will be getting a new one. If you continue to hit it hard, after a couple years it will crack. Overall an Awesome cymbal!
