Comments about Audio-Technica PRO 63 Cardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone:

I use this in conjunction with a large dia. condensor mic and a transducer pickup. It sounds great and rounds out the sound of just about any acoustic string instrument

Great mic. w/durable build. Uses are for 12 string acoustic, '80 JMP w/1960a 4x12 cab and vocal mic. All the applications have returned a crisp and clean replication of both guitars and vocals. I would recommend this mic. to anyone looking for an alternative to the SM57.

What a fantastic bargain! I didn't realize there could be anything cheaper that an SM57 that would sound so good on drums. If you're into old school minimalist drum micing techniques, this hits the nail on the head. Oddly enough, this works well with a bass drum too, despite the listed frequency range. It's also built tougher than an SM57, and is half the price. I'm buying a lot more of these. Great job, Audio Technica!

I would reccomend this to anyone and everyone. Great Mic!
I used it for recording my drums as an overhead mic, recording vocals in the studio, and live vocals through a PA. All techniques worked great. I wanted to buy a mic with NO FEEDBACK and I picked the right one for sure. I'm buying another one as soon as I get some extra cash.

Comments about Audio-Technica PRO 63 Cardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone:

Well I have kind of gotten sick of everyone just defaulting to Shure SM57's and SM58's so I wanted to braoden my horizons a little bit. I picked up this mic on a whim, I've owned some Audio Techinca headphones before and I liked them so I decided to give their instrument mic a try for a few recording sessions I had coming up.I feel like its a little on the omnidirectional side, I tried it on vocals and it seemed too sensitive to me, but as an instrument mic for miking guitar and bass cabs it does a great job, I got tones that please me far more than I ever got with an SM57, not sure why that is, but I really liked the sounds I got out of miking my amp with this. I plan on getting more in the future and I would definetly give Audio Technica another look. I don't know about the rest of their stuff but I will be giving more of their dynamic mics a try.As for features, it comes with a free cable of decent length and a little soft zip up bag to put it in. The only thing I could see wanting is maybe an on of switch. Does everything I want it to and nothing I don't.

                Great Mic

Comments about Audio-Technica PRO 63 Cardioid Dynamic Instrument Microphone:

I owned this mic for 2 years and it performed well. It was used for every practice and every show, enduring everything from low growls and high-pitched screams. It even survived multiple impacts to walls, floors and heads. You'll also find that theres next to no feedback (unless pointing directly at/and right beside the speakers). Overall, its a good sounding mic that can take a beating. It sounds good and you'll find that feedback is next to nil.

I ordered this mic a while back so I could record my guitar and part of my drum kit. After I played back many recordings, I was suprised by the quality of the sound! It was very crisp and clean and sounded great. A very good recording mic and I would recommend Audio-technica to anybody looking fora mic!
