Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

I really enjoy this mic. I had one for about a year then lost it. I tried around with a few others and the only way be that came close was the e609. The e906 just sounded a bit clearer and captured the sound of my amp a bit better with the options it has on it. For a single mic you can slap right in front of your amp (especially when you have to set up quickly) it's perfect. So, I bought another. Just make sure you take time and find the sweet spot on your amp because a 1/4 of and inch makes a difference with this mic.

Recorded side-by-side with SM57 and noticed definite fullness improvement, punchier sound from the e906. Can't wait to use it on the next gig.

            e906 - Pretty Decent

            By

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

The Sennheiser e906 is a good mic to have whenever you go out and play or head into the studio to work. I have likes and dislikes with this mic. I wouldn't get rid of this mic for any reason, but I would defiantly have other mics on hand as well. Recording guitar cabs with this mic seems to be pretty painless but I would strongly recommend putting another mic next to it. It works well with blending other mics with it. I usually blend it with an SM57. then put a condenser above the cab to get the room and it's a good pace to start. On a side note, I find this mic works for fender amps.I have to say the e609 might be slightly better. I think there is a padding that was added to the e906 to make the 906 and I think it changes the dynamic of the mic for worse. The 609 that I used was a little more honest. Both mics work on the tops of snare drums too. But once again. I suggest having another mic blended with it. On snares, put the other mic on the bottom. In closing, it's a good mic to have. I would recommend it, but have backups. Take a look at the e906 as well.

            A pretty good mic

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

I can honestly say this is a good mic...especially for the $$$. I found it works best for me when I pair it up with an SM57. I really like the idea of the built in filters, however, I never seem to have anything on me to switch it when I need to, but I can understand why they went with the countersunk switch. This mic really shined on stage: it let me really crank the guitar without giving me any problems with feedback and still maintained sound quality.

A great mic for short dough

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

I own a live recording studio where performance of a mic is paramount, especially for guitars. I received my E906 about a month ago and have used it on 3 live recordings of 3 different bands under 3 seperate sets of conditions, 1. rehearsal studio, 2. Live Soundstage, 3. Small club with close proximity to all other insturments. The performance of this mic has been nothing short of stellar. Every guitar is clear and captures the exact sound coming off of the speakers. I'm impressed with this little jewel as it's performed beyond my expectations...I'm buying 2 more!!!

            Sounds Good

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

I use this every week on a single 12" guitar cab. It has nice midrange for the guitar. I have to take out a ton of bass though all the time for the electric. I guess if you use it on a more bass heavy source it would be good too. I have only the complaint of having a lot of midbass. It's better than an SM57 though on the guitar cab. I haven't used many guitar mics, so just use this review for what it's worth. It sounds nice though.

            perfect

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

We use these at our contemporary service at my church. We have them in isolation cabs too which is nice but anyways back to the mic. The e906 is just flat out perfect for us electric players. It picks the sound out well and really keeps the sound clear unlike alot of mics that can sound muffled at times. The sound quality truely is remarkable. It picks up the tone that comes out of your speaker, with out coloring it, and allows it to come through clearly in the PA. Suprisingly enough, the tone was even more killer when i finally used it strait up to my moded hot rod deluxe rather than from an isolation cab. I could go on about how much i love this mic. overall: Well priced, Great build and sound quality, and Highly Recommended!

            Great product

Comments about Sennheiser evolution e906 Dynamic Guitar Amp Microphone:

Wow. That is really all I have to say. First off, I have been recording for about 5 years now, and while that may not seem like a lot, the number of microphones I have gone through is. This microphone gives me the most accurate representation of my original tone without sacrificing anything. I used barely ANY equalizing in post-production. I gave this a 5 for features because the presence switch is great. It gave my tone great presence without tapping out the highs and giving that razor sound that can be harsh on a mix. It made the overall sound so much warmer and pleasing to edit with. Basically, if you can come across one of these mics, don't pass it up.
