Comments about Shure PG57-LC Dynamic Microphone:

I bought one of these 'cause it was about half the price of the SM's. I use it for vocals in a home studio and particularly like the on/off switch. I also like the flat top for some reason. I guess it's 'cause you can touch it while you're singing and know you're in the right place. I'd use it as a back-up for performances but only because the more expensive ones are supposed to be better. I honestly can't tell the difference and it seems pretty rugged. I've had it for years now and it's as good as new.

Comments about Shure PG57-LC Dynamic Microphone:

I use two Shure PG57-LC Dynamic Microphones to Mic two 25 watt guitar amps running stereo to a Tascam 424 portable recording studio for getting down and practicing song ideas. They sound great at any volume.
