TC Helicon

Hand-held, live-performance dynamic mic designed and voiced for close-up vocal technique with the ability to control TC Helicon vocal processors.

Perhaps no one has done more for quality onstage vocal processing than TC Helicon, but what about that all-important first link in the signal chain? TC has answers with the MP-75 Modern Performance Vocal Microphone with Mic Control. This is what every singer deserves: a microphone engineered for the sonic realities of modern vocal performance and simple one button control of TC-Helicon vocal effects. You’d expect nothing less from the only pro audio company 100% dedicated to the needs of singers.

Another microphone?
Does the world really need yet another vocal microphone? In TC Helicon’s opinion no—it just needs one really good one. One designed for today, where the advent of singers using studio quality vocal processing on stage has transformed live vocal performance. Singers are demanding more control. The effects used by modern vocalists require off-axis noise rejection and frequency response that the majority of dynamic instrument microphones repurposed for singers just can’t deliver. TC-Helicon MP-75 delivers.

Superior Vocal Tone
The proprietary Lismer capsule design uses a patented neodymium magnet structure for high output and uniform performance. The placement of the super-cardioid capsule provides best in class off-axis noise rejection and feedback suppression. In addition, a dual-material diaphragm with light and rigid sections produces optimal high frequency response. If you’re making use of the latest in vocal processing, this microphone can help give your sound that studio-produced edge.

Singers have the ultimate location for control right in their hands

On the microphonethat’s where singers want to control their sound. This is what makes TC-Helicon unique among all the microphone brands on the market. TC Helicon is devoted to singers and takes your input seriously. You’ve been unanimous in how you want to extend the control for your vocal effects. You want a simple way to creatively control your sound in performance without being tied to one place on the stage. Now, TC-Helicon’s patent pending Mic-Control circuit allows simple, single button control of all of TC-Helicon’s USB enabled vocal processors, including VoiceLive 2 (#580324), VoiceLive Touch (#486066), VoiceTone Singles (H70273), Harmony-G XT (584276), Create XT (#485434) and Synth (#583674).

So what are you going to do with all this control?
When you’re setup and singing with MP-75 and your USB-enabled TC-Helicon vocal processor*, you’ll have the freedom to move around the stage while controlling your vocal sound.

VoiceLive Touch and VoiceLive 2: remote control of the single-button looper or any Shortcut in VoiceLive 2.

VoiceTone Harmony-G XT: turn your harmonies on and off for the verse or chorus.

VoiceTone Create XT: bypass the effects when it’s time to talk to the audience.

VoiceTone Synth: add the HardTune or Vocoding effect on single words or phrases with ease.

VoiceTone Singles: chain the pedals together and set up Mic Control to turn HardTune and Doubling on and off – leaving your reverb and tone settings unchanged for example.

*may require free firmware update.

Designed for singers
TC-Helicon’s modern performance vocal microphones are not multipurpose microphones. They are designed and voiced for the realities of live performance. Whereas many vocal microphones get their target frequency response several inches away from the capsule, MP-75 and its brother MP-70 are voiced for the close-up mic technique modern vocalists use. Singers also expect a rugged design built for live performance. MP-75 uses a special heat-treated and hardened steel windscreen grill to provide up to 10 times the durability of non-hardened grills.

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

Purchased this to use with the TC Helicon Voice Live 3. It is an excellent match to take advantage of the capabilities of the Voice live. Overall Microphone quailty is excellent. Over my many years of playing and recording I have used many microphones with varing success. I have found the performance to be both transparent and clean. Because it is primarily designed for the features associated with the Voice Live, the off axis rejection is somewhat higher than with other microphones. Therfore you may find the need to roll off the low end a little to compensate for the proximity.Other than that it has quickly become one of my favorite microphones.

I have always used good old dependable Sure SM-58's, but I have to admit, Just like the other Five TC Helicon products I have bought, these two MP 75's are exceptional. I will never go back.

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

For a long while after getting this mic, I hadn't the chance to try it out live until this past weekend. After using the EV ND/967 for almost a decade , I thought I would never replace it but this jewel proved me wrong. It was clear , powerful, and cut thru the mix like a vocal mic should. Its also built like a tank, when I first got it the first thing I thought when I held it in my hand was ... solid. All the right ups online swear this thing is built for singers , TC Helicon really got it right on this mic. I also have the voicetone single pedals and the button on the mic is really handy. However I hit it accidently durning a song when I didnt want it. But thats it, its a solid mic and also really records well in my studio. If your a singer.... Get the TC Helicon products and you wont regret it. Two thumbs up!!!!

                Exactely What Every Singer Needs

                By Mark Powell

                from Texas

Comments about TC Helicon MP-75 Dynamic Handheld Microphone with Helicon Control Switch:

The only downside I'll list is the MP-75's control button placement is where a user may accidentially press it during a performance. I also expected the conntection pins to be gold-plated, given that so many other top quality microphones use thos today. With a cheap microphone cable, there is a bit of a wobble between microphone connector, and connector cable. I'll be shopping for a cable that has a rubber grommet built in to help prevent such play beteen mic, and connector.

Other than that, this beautifully designed microphone works exactly as expected, and is nearly impossible to get a plosive syllable to blurt out during live performance. It has an extrememly well made pop filter.
I've been singing for over 40 yrs., and I can tell you from experience this new microphone from TC Helicon is just what I was wanting. Not only does it have smililar charactrericstics to an SM-48b, but isi made just as ruggely, and has the control button on it for controlling other TC Helicon voice equipement in real-time. No more nodding at your sound man to add or cut an effect, TC Helicon has enambled we musicians to do it ourselves. I love the freedowm.
Top marks for sound, sensitivity, quailty of reproduction, handling noise, and overall fee. It weighs more than Shure SM 58 beta's.
I'm not sure what more anyone could want in a hypercardiod microphone with low noise, a control over various sound parameters of differing TC Helicon products.
