    Breedlove

An easy-to-play O-style mandolin, built with homegrown woods and Breedlove's incredible craftsmanship.

With a design that harkens back to the golden era of mandolin building, the American Series mandolins combine the best traditional construction elements with Breedlove's cutting-edge aesthetics and attention to detail.

The American Series OO mandolin is a teardrop-shaped 8-string. The body design provides a boomy, deep range that punches through a mix with clarity and authority. You won't believe the sound and power that comes out of such a little instrument. With a single oval sound hole, the sound is loud, and punchy, ideal for rhythmic strumming or out-front lead solos. The solid Sitka spruce top and maple back and sides further complement the bold projection, so this O-style can be heard no matter what arrangement you find yourself in. Whether practicing at home, jamming with your buddies, or blazing some Bill Monroe licks at center stage, this 8-string sounds killer. The 13 15/16" scale, 1-3/16" nut width, and 16" radius provides comfort and accessibility when running up and down the instrument's 23 frets. The bolt-on maple neck, and ebony fretboard provide amazing clarity and sustain, while also making the instrument incredibly sturdy.

Dressed in a smooth satin finish, with Saga tuners, and chrome hardware, this mandolin is truly a bluegrass looker, and will impress everybody within range of its killer tone and breathtaking looks.

The Breedlove OO mandolin not only sounds great, but is also very easy to play. Details like a radiused fingerboard and generous string spacing make it a very comfortable instrument. Design features such as low-profile neck and tail blocks and a floating bridge extension ensure maximum resonance and tonal response. Includes Breedlove deluxe hardshell case.

Great Tone / Easy To Play

Comments about Breedlove American Series OO Mandolin:

I'm not a mandolin player but even I can make this Breedlove sound good.

I'm a guitar player who dabbles with banjo, bouzouki, Irish Whistle, harmonica, bass, lap steal guitar etc.

This mandolin is a wonderful accent instrument. I own three "High End" Breedlove guitars and this mandolin fits right in with the same quality and tone.

Comments about Breedlove American Series OO Mandolin:

This came pretty much set up. All I needed to do was tune it up and go. Intonation is pretty accurate up and down. There is no buzzing anywhere and I hope it stays that way. Great action; it's very comfortable to hold and play. I would absolutely recommend a test drive at the least, if you like the look of this beaut.

    quite pleased

Comments about Breedlove American Series OO Mandolin:

I previously owned a Washburn M3SW as an entry level mandolin and upgraded to the Breedlove OO. There is no comparison. The Breedlove engineering coupled with the rich resonance of the oval hole lets the OO ring on high and low notes with not much loss in resonance as you move up the fretboard. What a wonderful sound for the Celtic, old-time, and classical pieces I play. The slightly wider and curved board makes playing this instrument a true joy. On top of all this, the Musician's Friend prices could not be beat. I am very, very pleased with this mandolin. I am sure that one could get an even better sound moving up in price a bunch, but I can't do that. The OO will be with me a long time.

    Exceptional Quality

This Breedlove Oval hole mandolin is outstanding. It has a beautiful oval hole sound that is warm with the notes ringing out crystal clear. To this reviewer, the lack of adornment gives it a natural beauty. The emphasis was obviously placed on construction, quality and sound--all accomplished at a high level. If one prefers the warmer sound of an oval hole this mandolin will not disappoint. Another plus is it's made in the USA employing American Workers--way to go Breedlove. A final note for those who are drawn to this instrument but feel it cannot be used for Bluegrass--think of Andy Statman's phenomenal work over a 30 year career played on an oval hole mandolin.
