Comments about Dean Thinbody Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Resonator Guitar:

I frankly hate to buy a guitar online but this was the one I wanted. i read reviews and watched some Y-tube videos showcasing this instrument. They were all very positive. I at first ordered the box without the cutaway and had to change it. The guy named Jeff helped me through and it was painless, good work thanks.
I saw that the specific guitar i wanted was available as returned merchandise. I knew what to expect. I bought it at a discount.
The neck and bridge needed to be reworked and it had a noisy pot.
I worked the pot out it's quiet now and I'm having a friend who is a professional luthier fix the rest so I didn't save any money but i went into this eyes wide so I have no room to complain. I had already planned on taking to my friend for set up anyway. The same thing could have happened if I had bought it through a music store although I recommend getting the insurance to cover problems.
I love the guitar and am happy with my purchase it was easy dealing with Musician's
Friend but make sure you know what you're doing and get the insurance.
The case they sent with was too big so I got a gig bag I had already knew I could use the case for another guitar so "No Worries Mate!"

Comments about Dean Thinbody Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Resonator Guitar:

This is a very nice playing and looking guitar. Made in Korea. Works and so.unds great acoustically, but the volume from the pickups is very low. The output of the piezo pickup is much lower than the weak lipstick pickup, making it very difficult to get a good blended tone. Other than that it plays well with a comfortable mahogany neck with nice low action.
The quality is inconsistent. I had to return the first one because there were a lot of sharp fret ends along the neck, some notes fretted out, and the volume control for the pickups was very scratchy. Shipping both ways on the return was free, but they don't ship a replacement until after they receive the original.
Would I buy this guitar again, or recommend to a friend? For primarily acoustic use, yes, but only in store because of the fret issues the first example had. I would not recommend for electric use.
