Great Fun

After seeing Joe Brown on the DVD of the Concert for George, I decided to try out a ukelele. One week later I am hooked.Although it looks like a toy, this is the real McCoy. The ukelele itself is very neatly constructed with a very playable neck, nicely set frets, and a very snug feel. The sound is surprisingly rich - remember to strum across the 12th fret, not the sound hole.As a bonus, it also comes in a very nice case with a humidity meter. The only slight issue was the C string kept slipping out of tune. However, this was quickly remedied by tightening the machine head/peg.I definitely recommend.

Nice little package

This is a Chinese-made uke that provides exceptional value for the money. It's well-crafted, loud and resonant, very easy to play, and gives you a lot of bang for your buck. It's pretty much a plain Jane, appointment and trim-wise, but that's the whole idea of a uke in the first place. I bought mine on a whim, just to see what they were like. It's a keeper. One thing I had a bit of a struggle getting used to was the shallow-profile (front-to-back) neck. Now that I am used to it, though, it doesn't bother me at all.
