The Fender FB300 pack is a great value for what it is.  It is not a fancy banjo, and the materials are very basic, but it is a nice inexpensive way to get into playing.  I would recommend this banjo to anyone who wants to start learning to play the banjo.  If you like the instrument, upgrade, if you don't, at least you didn't invest too much.

Fender FB 300 Banjo Pack

I bought this banjo knowing nothing about banjos and I thought that since it was a "value pack" which in reality they mean starter or beginner?s pack, that it would be best suited for me. The finger picks they sent were way too small for my fingers and the "how-to" material they sent mentioned a cd that was suppose to come with it which I did not have. I ended up sending it back and getting my money back because the nut on the 5th string was set way too low and bussed when it was plucked open and didn't when it was fretted. I brought it to music stores to see if I could get it repaired but most of them had no experience what so ever with banjos and funky 5th string nut. My advice is that you would be better off just spending your money on a cheaper banjo and then buy everything else you needed with all the left over cash.

I wanted to learn banjo, and saw this. I thought since Fender made such great guitars, then this banjo was a no-brainer. When I got it, I was delighted. It's really easy to play, and the action and strings were the only things I needed to change. Great beginning banjo!
