I own Fender FB-58 for more than 3 years now. I have used it in tons of bluegrass jamming session, and here's what I think about the banjo:Fender FB-58 is simply the ultimate banjo for anybody who don't want to spend more than $2000 for a banjo. I put $2000 minimum since this FB-58 has the same tone, playibility, look and quality if not more superior with US-made banjos between $1000 to $2000. This banjo is made in Korea, which means that the cost of production goes for the material and the quality instead of expensive labor. Other banjos with similar or cheaper price are no match with this one. Those banjos will make you lose interest in playing banjo all together. Go to you local music store and do your own comparison. You'll have the same conclusion.

Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
I exchanged the taiwan head for a 5 star, it was brilliant befor, but you should hear it now, even better. I took it to a bluegrass fest in cornwall last year, and even first class pickers were blown away when they played it. As I was told it was as good as some of the very expensive Banjo`s. I also play a Martin d28, but I play the b58 more now. It will stay with me forever.
Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
This banjo is one of the best banjos for your money. My brother had one and the only problems he had was the binding coming unglued. But for the price, you will not find a better banjo.
Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
believe me, there is no better bluegrass sound than these new fender banjos. word of caution--make sure your head tension is at it max- after your head is tightened to its max you won't believe the sound. believe me, the major brands which i play as well have little on this new fender banjo.
Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
A bit heavy but darn good for the price.

I have owned and played this banjo for over three years now and the sound and quality are great.
Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
I originally bought the FB54 but quickly outgrew it and decided to get a banjo that I can grow with and use onstage. I have had the FB58 for about 8 months now and I honestly feel that this is the best product out there for the money, and I have played everything under 1k. There are plenty of good banjo's out there, but they all cost a couple hundred more and are not any better. I personally would not reccomend the 54 or the 55, they are not any where near the quality of the 58 and both have non standard (extra long, and narrow) necks which will make it awkward if you ever buy a better instrument. You will not be dissapointed with the FB58.
Comments about Fender FB58 Banjo:
excellent value for entry-level professional model banjo. Does require a good bit of fine tuning and set-up. The set-up needed requires a professional to do the work.
