This was my first Fender Uke purchased in August of 2012. I have since purchased the solid Mahogany tenor as well. I really enjoy the brightness of this Koa model. It really cuts through. The Mahogany is very noticeably more mellow which is a very pleasing sound as well. They both have their places. I am a Telecaster Man and I just love these headstocks! I am also very happy with the feel of these necks. Well done, Fender.
I have done recordings with both as you can see if you look up my videos under "eternalrhythmflow".
Unfortunately, this Koa model has recently started to fret buzz on the low C string from the 1st to the 4th frets. It is terribly irritating because there is no way to adjust the neck to solve the problem. The only way around it is to play softly, which is pointless when trying to express energy.
I am really upset about my Koa and now have to contact Fender about their warranty. Really looking forward to that, not.
Regardless, even if I just lost on this one, I will probably get another one because it has been a good musical companion and I do enjoy the Koa tone and the fender neck.
I hope this helps. Enjoy my videos!

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:
My first uke! Shopped around at the local music stores but this was the best bang for the buck. Did my homework - strings take about 2 weeks to settle in. I also changed the top string from a high G to a low G (Aquila) to give it a lower sound (I'm learning the bass and like the bass sound).
The bridge is much easier to change the strings on. It does fit in the standard Musician's Friend Tenor hardshell case - I do recommend getting it with this Uke.
Overall, this is a greak uke. Good sound, well built, easy string changes, and overall beautifully built. Very satisfied with it.

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:
Really great ukelele. I own two Kamaka's from the mid 1980's, so I have some history with ukes. This Fender uke is not only a real "looker" it also plays and sounds fantastic. Like some of the other respondents, I can't stop playing it. Action is perfect and projects really well with that classic islands sound.

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:
I've been looking into purchasing this uke for quite a while, about a year and a half, and finally caved. First off, this instrument is amazingly pleasing to the eye. The beautiful koa shine and astounding attention to detail just makes it all the more pleasing to play. The telecaster headstock is constantly causing comments about how interesting it is, and I actually find it stays in tune longer with this classic Fender design.
This instrument plays incredibly well, it feels like my fingers can go anywhere with ease, and the neck is perfect in my opinion. I really enjoy how they have the bridge set up as well, you don't have to tie those obnoxious knots that can come undone, it really speeds up attaching new ones, which I personally love. The sound can range anything from mellow sunset evenings, to sharp fun island tunes, so you can do truly anything from solo playing to simple strums.
The price!!! This ukulele is the best for this price for sure! It sounds like something you would usually pay $399+ for, and it looks amazing.
The conclusion is, if you're looking into a quality tenor ukulele but don't want to break the bank, this is the perfect uke for you without a doubt.

Comments about Fender Nohea Koa Tenor Ukulele:
I am from Hawaii and know the quality of a good (yuke) Ukelele and this a quality made instrument. Bought for the studio and impressed what fender did to produce there own. Will change strings later but the over all is great. Price seen some lower but not as nice. : )

Fantastic for the money. Excellent value.
Wow! I just recieved this Ukulele and although I have never played a tenor (just baritone and soprano) I was duely impressed with the awsome sound of this instrument. It has excellent fit and finish (beautiful Koa wood), better then I expected for the money. I would definatly purchase another one.
