An ancient Middle Eastern instrument reimagined with a modern French-Canadian flair.
The MulitOud Ambiance Steel from Godin Guitars lets you take the oud, an ancient 11-string instrument with origins in the Middle East, to places it's never gone before. With an innovative design that includes a Fishman Aura Pro electronics system, you can plug in and be heard in a crowd or over the mix in a band situation, but more importantly you have a 3-band EQ, volume control, bridge and microphone options via the onboard preamp, right at your fingertips. The oud is traditionally hard to keep in tune. But with this intelligently crafted reworking by Godin, you have custom machine heads and a bulit-in chromatic tuner to make that issue a thing of the past. While the first ouds were pear shaaped and had a bulbous back to them, the MultiOud has a more modern flat-back style and even gives you a cutaway in the upper bout for better access to the entire fretboard. The two-chambered solid mahogany body and solid spruce top help project your sound when not plugged in, and the ebony fingerboard and bridge mix beautifully with the sunburst finish. All in all, this is one instrument that is sure to turn heads.

Comments about Godin MultiOud Ambiance Steel Acoustic-Electric:
This is a very nice instrument. Quality built and beautiful. It does resemble the sound of the actual oud but cannot capture the full essence of the real thing. It is great for practice and recording.
