Comments about Gold Star GF-100HF Mahogany Hearts and Flowers 5-String Banjo:
I've had this banjo for almost a year now, and it's great. I play in a traditional blugrass band and it's perfect. It has good tone, sustain, and great looks. The finish is great and the inlays are good. The pictures do not do it justice. The only problem I had with this banjo was the tuning machines eventually lose their tuning and need to be replaced. I replaced them with Grover tuners that work great. The action and setup of this banjo are superb, except the bridge needs to be placed in the right position. If you have a cheaper instrument and are upgrading this is the banjo for you. I really enjoy playing my banjo And if you buy this one I hope you do too.
Comments about Gold Star GF-100HF Mahogany Hearts and Flowers 5-String Banjo:
The Gold Star GF-100 (Hearts and Flowers) totally brings back the pre-war era of banjos that you can only get out of an old Gibson RB-3 or a Gibson Granada. Every time I play this banjo I can absolutely tell why bluegrass banjo players would play an instrument like this.
