Comments about Gold Tone Dojo Deluxe 5-String Resonator Banjo:

I play banjo in a fairly eclectic band. I bought this banjo so that I could quickly switch between a variaty of sounds (Banjo, Electric slide guitar...)-Sounds great, plays great. -Low action, no buzzing -Unamplified, it mixes nicely with an acoustic guitar and bass. -Workmanship is good. -Nice finish. -Had to install my own strap button. -No signal controls on the body. It uses a Y cable with a discreet output from each pickup.-I'm still figuring out how to handle the pickups. The single coil has an ok electric sound. It's hot enough to pull off "Sweet Jane" if you are so inclined. The transducer in the bridge is way hotter and has way too much treble. I'm going to try it tonight with an eq pedal and see if I can tame it. Ultimately, I think I will be running the transducer through whatever signal correction pedals it needs and then straight to the PA. I will probably run the single coil through some nasty pedals and then into a tube amp.Overall, this is a good player.

        Dojo Deluxe

Comments about Gold Tone Dojo Deluxe 5-String Resonator Banjo:

A few blems. One on the top by the neck, and the binding by the neck joint has a crack in it. The axe is playable and sounds good overall. I would advise changing the biscuit and bridge saddle to something of better quality although the guitar still sounds good. I would recommend buying one. It is as good as any national reso-guitar that I have played and for alot less $$.Anyway, its worth having.
