The unique Gold Tone SMP pick-up accentuates the bass notes and provides piercing banjo-style treble. The GT-500 banjitar has excellent acoustic volume and good sustain.

Comments about Gold Tone GT-500 Banjo:

Bought my Gold Tone GT500 three years ago and it plays great and sounds mighty fine. Well built and haven't had any problems so far. Stays tuned up in the case of on the stand for several days. Neck is attached very solidly to the GT500. I had a vintage Framus six string banjo and the neck was attached with one bolt, so I spent more time tuning than I did playing. I did get to play it enough over the years to fall in love with the sound of a six string banjo. If you already play guitar, you can become a banjo picker in a couple of days with this puppy. I lowered the action on mine a tad and put a set of Ernie Ball Slinkys on it and she was ready to go. Pickup sounds good and you can crank it a great deal without much feedback. Nice for slide too, if you don't set the action too low. Get yourself one, you won't be sorry.

      Awesome!

Comments about Gold Tone GT-500 Banjo:

I've played the Deering B6, and it's amazing, but this does the same job, and feels slightly more solid.
I had been in the market for a Banjitar for some time, and after trying the Dean and several others at a lower price, I came upon a B-Stock here at MF. All of the others were a severe disappointment. I lucked out with a killer price of $300, all because a screw from the resonator was missing. I tightened the remaining 3 and it played perfectly.

I plugged it in a fell in love. The sound is amazing, and the set up out of the box was spot-on. I didn't have to change a thing. The volume knob is smooth, and although you can change the position of the pick-up inside, I didn't have to. I rehearsed with it the following weekend, and it was nice to be just as loud as the rest of the band!

If you are looking to get a banjitar, get this one. It's well worth the money (even at the regular price of $750). You won't be sorry.
Everything about it is pro. No corner cutting on this one.
I would by another at regular price tomorrow.
