OVERVIEW

A vintage-style instrument with a mahogany body and a solid spruce top.

The Gretsch G9300 heralds the return of the revered Gretsch New Yorker mandolin. Styled after the brightly ringing 1950s classic, the New Yorker Standard Mandolin offers premium features with authentic vintage touches, full-bodied tone, smooth-playing performance and eye-catching design beauty. Its mahogany body has a bright spruce top that's finished in a deep sunburst. The set mahogany neck comes with a smooth rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays for precise fingering. A compensated rosewood bridge helps keep notes in tune and is adjustable in height to suit your style. A traditional "Clamshell" tailpiece and nickel hardware complete this fine instrument.

Gretsch is proud to take players on a musical journey through nearly a century of great Gretsch history by introducing its Roots Collection of acoustic instruments. This exciting family of banjos, mandolins, resonator guitars, ukuleles and Rancher acoustic guitars feature classically authentic Gretsch designs that transport players to a bygone era well before the company made its acclaimed 1950s entry into the electric guitar world.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9300 New Yorker Standard Mandolin:

This is the first mandolin I have ever owned. I have wanted one for a long time and my wife purchased this for me on my birthday. I LOVE it! The tone is great quality for the price. It holds its tune very well so you are not retuning after each song. And it has a beautiful finish. Undoubtedly, there are better mandolins you can buy, but there are a lot worse than this too. This is a great deal for the money paid! For me, this mandolin is great fit for what I was looking for. I don't have any aspirations of playing in big concerts or having it mic'ed, I just want to play at home and with friends on the front porch. I don't see this mandolin ever not meeting those standards with excellence. It is a whole lot of fun! Get it & enjoy!

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9300 New Yorker Standard Mandolin:

Already have G9320 which is great looking. Has perfect neck shape and head stock. Tuners are stable, and holds tuning right on. Tail piece has a good shiny chrome plating. Finish has nice satin surface.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G9300 New Yorker Standard Mandolin:

I am primarily a guitarist but I have owned and played three previous mandolins and I like this one the best. It has a nice rich sound and plays easily. It has a satin finish which isn't my preference but I must admit the fit and finish is well done. The instrument is very good at maintaining its tune. It appears to well represent Gretsch quality.
