It takes a lot of air to get a good sound out of the Free Blues, but they are durable. If You want a Hering, spend the extra money to get a master blues, you'll be glad you did (although they don't make the wood comb ones any more, the new plastic combs are very good).
I purchased a Free Blues in A and am very pleased with it. It is well made, nice fit and finish, and sounds great. It is a lot more harp than I expected for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent harp for not a lot of money.
overall this product stands above the rest in this price range.
This is a good harp for the price. I ordered one just out of curiosity. My D harp is a herring black blues harp that I love to play. When I first took it out of the package it felt like a toy in my hand because it was so lite. However, after I started to fool around with it, I was surprise at how good the reed response was. Note bending is real easy on this harp, even over blow bends. I was impressed, it sounds good and is a step above the Hohner Blues Bender that is priced a dollar cheaper.
It sounded great miked up.
This a good harp if you are looking for a cheap pocket harp just to practice when ever.
The quality of this is good.
Worth the price
This is my first harp. I am very happy with it. I've always liked playing Dylan tunes, so I final decided to break down and buy a harp to play along with my acoustic guitar. I'm not a harp expert, but I think this is definitely a great starter harp.
