I purchased the Hering Harmonica Maintenance Kit with the idea that it would provide the tools which would streamline and simplify the process of tuning, repairing and maintaining my harmonicas. Some of the items are unfamiliar to me. An folded piece of paper with an explaination of the tools and what their uses are would've been a nice start, especially considering the price.Hering, from my experience, doesn't provide any real customer support either. I wish that I either saved my money or invested on the Lee Oscar Harmonica Tool Kit and Instruction Manual.
Like everybody else says, no instructions. The tools I have figured out work well, but the rest..? I've e-mailed Hering, no reply yet. They could sell a lot more of these if they put up a web page of instructions (or included them in future kits).

more if you figure out all the tools
I bought the Hering Harmonica Maintenance Kit with high expectations. Instead, I recieved a strange kit containing some tools which are strange to me and no instructions. One lesson that I've learned from my experience with Hering is that customer service seems to be of no importance. My advice is to buy the Lee Oskar Harmonica Tool Kit and Instruction Manual. It's not only lower priced, but includes instructions.
It's better than any other kit out there. It does cost more than the Lee Oskar kit, but it comes with more stuff. And some of the tools in the LO do not fit Hohner harps (this one does). While it's true that it doesn't come with instructions on how to fix a harmonica, mine did come with an insert that describes each tool and what it is used for. If you want to learn how to fix harps try Rupert Oysler's DVD "Harmonica Repair and Modification".
This tool kit has got some great little tools in it. I prefer to use high quality jeweler screw drivers, but other than that, I don't know how I'd fix my harps without it.
