Comments about Hohner 3002B Ariette Folk/Cajun Accordion:

Price is attractive but you get what you pay for. For an absolute beginner it's hard to play and won't last. For a middle grounder it's not good enough. Save yourself the grief and buy a better instrument.

good accordion, but can be fixed to be better.

Comments about Hohner 3002B Ariette Folk/Cajun Accordion:

I've been playing for 4 years now. I started playing on a little toy accordion, then moved onto this. It's a pretty good beginner's accordion. The only problem I've had was a broken spring. The keyboard setup is german style, where the springs push the button back up. A cajun style accordion keyboard has springs that pull the buttons back in, which gives the buttons an easier push so you can glide accross the keyboard more rapidly. So, if you live in louisiana, you can buy this instrument and bring it to an accordion shop, and they can reconstruct the keyboard to make it cajun style for about 50 bucks. It's more added onto the price, BUT... the accordion will work better. And even if you can't get the keyboard fixed to a cajun style keyboard, it's still a great buy. It doesn't leak air like most cheaper accordions, I've found. Great begginner's accordion.

Comments about Hohner 3002B Ariette Folk/Cajun Accordion:

I bought one of these after teaching myself the basics on a toy accordion. It's much louder than the toy, has a wider range and the 4 stops are fun to play around with. I have had a spring break and a reed go out, and the strap has fallen off, too. Luckily I have someone who can fix this stuff in town. I would like to buy a nicer box as soon as I can to compare the two, but for the money the Arriette is about the only option out there.
