As exert harp player Steve Baker describes in his book, The Harp Handbook, the 560 Special 20 harmonica in Natural Minor tuning means that "all the 3rds in the blow and draw chords...are tuned a semitone lower than the Richter system, so that both blow and draw chords are minor...." This "tuning is great for blues and rock numbers in minor keys..." and is "also very good for minor key reggae numbers, or similar spacey groove music...." In general, natural minor harps have a very bluesy, soulful sound that's perfect for playing minor blues, rock, country, reggae, pop, and jazz. I have tried to order several of these in the keys of Am, Dm, and Em and every time i get an email months later stating I won't be recieving them. Backorder is one thing, but i have yet to recieve any of these.

I have been playing harmonica for a little while now, and I have bought a few different ones. The Hohner special 20 has been my second favorite (I think the Bushman Delta Frost has been the best, but they don't offer a natural minor). This is pretty much the same as my major special 20, just a different key and tuning. I like how the holes are smaller on the Special 20 and the Delta Frost unlike the larger ones on the Lee Oskars. All three brands are great, but just like Fenders and Gibsons, everyone has their own preference. I also think that the Hohners have the best cases, the instrument doesn't shake around in the case as much as the Delta Frost or the Lee Oskar.My only real complaint about this product is that it is tricky to order the key you want. These are designed to be played in Cross harp (second position draw is the root note), so I thought they would be labeled that way. It would have been nice if the online description would clear this up. I could understand if they labeled the instrument either way, I just wish that they would tell you which way they chose. The D natural minor that I ordered is actually played (in cross harp) as an Am. The label on the harmonica actually refers to the 4 blow note. So if you want to play a song in a particular minor key, you need to order the harp that is a fourth higher.song is in natural Em - order Amsong is in natural Am - order Dmsong is in natural Dm - order Gmsong is in natural Gm - order CmOther than that, it is a great instrument, just like the major Special 20s.
