About Hohner MS-Series harmonicas:
The acronym 'MS' stands for Modular System, an integrated concept of Hohner's harmonica designs. MS-series harmonicas benefit from innovations that improve their playing characteristics and also significantly facilitate maintenance and handling. All Hohner MS-series harmonica parts (combs, reed plates, and covers) can be combined individually. Simple screw connections allow for easy assembly. This benefit offers harp players the ability to adjust their harmonicas to their individual requirements. For example, some players prefer the body of one harmonica and the cover plates of another, and so a "custom hybrid" is possible for the discerning harp player. Replacement reeds are available (see item: RP565 MS Replacement Reed Plates).

About Hohner:
Hohner is a family company founded in 1857 in Trossingen, Germany by Matthias Hohner. Hand-made quality and close attention to detail has set Hohner apart from the beginning. A top leading brand in harmonicas, Hohner harps are distributed worldwide. Hohner harmonicas are played on the street by buskers, in intimate nightclubs, on festival stages, and even in Carnegie Hall. Despite a diverse harmonica line used in music from country to classical genres, the most famous Hohner harmonicas are their simple, 10-hole diatonics used frequently by blues, rock, country, and folk musicians.

* Greblon is used as a non-stick coating for cookware.

This harmonica was a major disapointment because of the sharp edges and the mediocre sound. Henceforth I will stick with Special 20's. For those who don't mind a mediocre sound, I would suggest you buy one of the Bluesband multi-harp kits. You can get several harps for the price of one of these, and they don't have the sharp edges.
The brass plate between the cover and comb has sharp edges and is hard on the lips.
Honestly, I played this side by side with a Bluesband model and can't tell the difference.
Okay, so if it plays and sounds like a Bluesband but costs six times as much, it's hard to say that this harmonica is a good value.

Very Uncomfortable Mouthpiece

By Snuffy

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:

This harp is irritating to the lips after playing for a few seconds, I think it would be outright painful to play a 3 minute song.
The Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS features reed plates that stick out about 2 mm past (over 1/16") beyond the holes in the comb. They edges of the reed plates aren't literally razor sharp, but they are by no means rounded off. The harmonica is very uncomfortable to play, and it's quite hard to get a good seal between the instrument and the lips. I ordered 2, tried one for a few minutes, and I've returned the unopened harp. I can't imagine anyone liking or preferring the protruding reed plates. It seems more like a major mistake in design that no one at the factory will admit to rather than something that is intentional. This harp might bend and wail like crazy, but I'll never know because I'll never touch it again.
It might have great "quality" but no will will want to play it due to the sharp edged protruding reed plates
Worthless to me because of the poor mouthpiece design

Love it

By Deacon Von

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:

I've played harmonica for about 10 years. Mostly accompanying my guitar playing. I've always used Special 20's but got sick of the dead spots that seemed to eventually occur. A guy at Guitar Center suggested I try the Pro MS. It has been a perfect fit to my harder than usual style of playing. I tend to push a lot of air and that would sometimes kind of "mis-fire" the Special 20's, or rather not produce a note. The Pro MS harp has been problem free for months (I play it 2-3 times a week) and hasn't had any dead spots. I think it's better suited for a Rock musician who's gonna be blowing harder than a more subtle player. I record using them too and they are just way more dependable than the Special 20's.

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:

My go-to harp, when key of music is not an issue, is the Pro Harp in key of "G". I've been playing these for years. Nothing beats it's warm, smoky purr, and it's bottom-end growl that says it means business. Not for beginners, however(it isn't called the Pro Harp for nothing), but does it ever sing when you treat it right! I haven't heard this sound duplicated by anything out there. Availability seems to be getting a little iffy(!?), buy while you can!

I used to like Delta Frost harmonicas but they don't seem to be making those any more. These Hohner Pros are great too. They don't blow out on me like Marine Bands and Special 20s sometimes do. Tone is typical Hohner quality.

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:

I'd avoid the Pro Harp harmonica. It is essentially a metal Marine Band. I find that while the tone is good, and it sounds great going through an amplifier, it is hard to play. I find that the holes are not airtight; there is more than a little leakage. Add to that the troubles of poor quality control at the Hohner factory, making the reed plates and the cover plates not align correctly. Lastly, I find that the reeds are not very responsive, that is, it takes a lot of air to push through them to get a note. It just feels clunkier. Once you are jamming and wailing out your solos and fills, you are ok. But for me, I'll avoid buying another one of these, even at sale prices. Special 20 or Lee Oskar are far better bets for smooth, responsive playing.
