I've played harmonica for about 10 years. Mostly accompanying my guitar playing. I've always used Special 20's but got sick of the dead spots that seemed to eventually occur. A guy at Guitar Center suggested I try the Pro MS. It has been a perfect fit to my harder than usual style of playing. I tend to push a lot of air and that would sometimes kind of "mis-fire" the Special 20's, or rather not produce a note. The Pro MS harp has been problem free for months (I play it 2-3 times a week) and hasn't had any dead spots. I think it's better suited for a Rock musician who's gonna be blowing harder than a more subtle player. I record using them too and they are just way more dependable than the Special 20's.

This harmonica was a major disapointment because of the sharp edges and the mediocre sound. Henceforth I will stick with Special 20's. For those who don't mind a mediocre sound, I would suggest you buy one of the Bluesband multi-harp kits. You can get several harps for the price of one of these, and they don't have the sharp edges.
The brass plate between the cover and comb has sharp edges and is hard on the lips.
Honestly, I played this side by side with a Bluesband model and can't tell the difference.
Okay, so if it plays and sounds like a Bluesband but costs six times as much, it's hard to say that this harmonica is a good value.

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
When the music plays and you don't want to be left behind, your sound, and your style that says just who you are and what you are trying to say through music, all depends on what you are packing and how you use it.The joy comes from the right tools and the sound of music.Let the ears be the judge. If you are scratching your head, you don't know.

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
I used to like Delta Frost harmonicas but they don't seem to be making those any more. These Hohner Pros are great too. They don't blow out on me like Marine Bands and Special 20s sometimes do. Tone is typical Hohner quality.

Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
Their slogan " JUST BREATHE" to me is verry mis leading . I get a number of people , that wan't to learn to play as I do , but find it verry frustrating .There is a lot more to playing , than just breathe . I play mostly in 2nd possition , and rarely go to 1st . My background in B flat brass , has helped me to hear what , before I do . The cord structure of the song presented ,and trying to play is simple for someone , that understands the Key , and cords of the instrument .
Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
I have found that since purchasing and Now using several PRO MS models... I like to play the SPECIAL 20 more, tough I like the look and feel of the PRO MS.
I really like the appearence and fit to the hand
Haven't found a manufacturer I like better
Not one who repairs, but replaces Harps... it can get costly when several are needed...
Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
I have been playing special 20's for years. I like the plastic comb and really love the sound but the protruding brass plate is a bit uncomfortable. The nice thing about that is the harp is easy to work on if your doing a gig and you lose a reed. For the money I will just stick with my special 20's and carry enouigh back ups I don't need to work on them.
nice look and balance.
come on its a honer.
not worth the extra money.
Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
The SPEIAL 20's were usually my choice though I NOW really appreciate this Pro Series.
Great feel to the body
It's a Hohner
As good a price found anywhere
Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
This harp is irritating to the lips after playing for a few seconds, I think it would be outright painful to play a 3 minute song.
The Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS features reed plates that stick out about 2 mm past (over 1/16") beyond the holes in the comb. They edges of the reed plates aren't literally razor sharp, but they are by no means rounded off. The harmonica is very uncomfortable to play, and it's quite hard to get a good seal between the instrument and the lips. I ordered 2, tried one for a few minutes, and I've returned the unopened harp. I can't imagine anyone liking or preferring the protruding reed plates. It seems more like a major mistake in design that no one at the factory will admit to rather than something that is intentional. This harp might bend and wail like crazy, but I'll never know because I'll never touch it again.
It might have great "quality" but no will will want to play it due to the sharp edged protruding reed plates
Worthless to me because of the poor mouthpiece design
Comments about Hohner 562 Pro Harp MS-Series Harmonica:
Okay, so I just got this little guy a few days ago and to me, it sounds fine.
I'm not sure what 'mediocre' tone sounds like and that's mostly because I've been playing harmonica for only a few months.
I honestly think that it's up to you to decide if you like it or not. I had no problem whatsoever with it so far and I'm glad this one doesn't cut up my lips like the wooden ones.
for $40...it ain't bad. Once you get to listen to a variety of harmonicas throughout years of playing, then you will get an idea of what sound you dig most coming out of these little things.
