I love it. First of all - this should not be your first chromatic harp. If it is, don't judge it by the slobbery playing you may likely do. Do not "wish" it came in other keys - for instance - key of D. If the band is in D, play third position. If you do not know basic harmonica theory, go buy a Mel Bay book written by David Barrett instead. This chromatic harmonica is the epitome of reasonably priced harmonicas. Tone is rich, not as loud as some other brands, but the rich "color" of the sound makes up for the lack of LOUD. Loud does not mean better. I love this chrom - I have two. I carry one in my gig case, and another I have next to my computer for practicing... third position stuff... when the tune is in D... ya know..

I've played this instrument professionally for over 20 years. It has the fattest tone of the chromatics from Hohner by my experience. I use my C tuned Super 64 to play in all keys and modes. It makes a very good jazz/blues/R&B instrument, however, I've used it with great success backing up singer songwriters and doing session work. As you break it in and it gets some miles on it, it can develope a breathy sax like quality which I like. I also like the way the reeds bend. I have no problem with clogging as others have noted. Note that no two Super 64's are alike. Quality of tone can vary. If you get a good one, hold on to it.

      Great Fat Sound

      By Mr.FourTrack

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

Good sound even has bend ability close to a diatonic combine that with all the note possibilities of a 64 and you have a good harmonica...Only complaint is that my windsavers make a little noise...most likely a very easy fix...Fat round sound that makes diatonics seeem like toys... Big mouthpiece is very comfortable, but can slow u down a little bit, but when u go back to your diatonic you'll play even faster...more of a single note tone machine in all keys

i have been playing it for 14 years & had no trouble except routine tuning of reeds after first 2 years. the full bodied sound, the swings, pitch bends, vibros sound just fantastic.recently i got 64 professional, but the super 64 is much better.

      This baby's a monster!

      By zeb-y6DAL

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

The Super 64 is big, heavy and unwieldly, especially if you've only played diatonics. I bought this as my first chromatic and found it difficult to play at first. It's taken me some time to get accustomed to the round holes in the mouthpiece, but with a little patience and practice this has proved to be worth the effort. The extra low notes are great(think of the harmonica on the Green Acres theme). The Super 64 has a beautiful, mellow sound.

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

If you know how to play a chromatic harmonica, and know about simple physics, and know about simple preventive maintenance, and know how to play dry... these kinds of bad reviews would not have been made by anyone making a good solid choice to purchase one of these. If you are a new player, go buy a Chrometta instead

      The best

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

This is the best harmonica I own. (Actually I own 2) It has a full 4-octave range starting at C below middle C. The silver plated mouthpiece is incredibly smooth and the slide action is better than any other Honer product. It's a litttle large and may take some getting used to... but worth it!!!

Thank God I Ordered This Harmonica

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

I spent several weeks trying to convince myself to buy the Suzuki Chromatic - but the price on the Hohner through this site was just too good not to buy - and thank god I did. I took it out of the box just before a gig - and over the next 4 hours of playing, I was completely blown away at how finely tune it was straight out of the box. Easy to play - great tones - can't wait for tonight's gig.

Comments about Hohner 7582/64 Super 64 Chromonica Chromatic Harmonica:

I play this harp in church and with a bluegrass band.It is reliable, & does not clog easily, as the smaller 280 models do. Wish they offered this in keys of D and A, rather than remembering what is required to play this in those keys.
