I like the plastic comb with larger holes. The combs are black with the key stamped to the left side in a gold letter. You can see the key at a glance. They came in a nice zippered case. If they just played a little better......
I am a new harmonica player and I had read that I should start on a cheaper set of harmonicas so the better ones wouldn't get ruined. That is why I bought this set. Out of the 7, I had 3 that were pretty good, I could get a note out of the blow/draw holes, 1 that wasn't too bad, but the other 3 had holes that I couldn't get a note at all. Anyway, I sent the 3 to Hohner to get repaired/replaced but I haven't heard from them yet. I guess I got what I paid for. l wouldn't buy this set again..
These are not the best, but I have played worse.
I suppose I could say that for the price, I got a good case and 4 harmonicas that played fair and a chance to get the other 3 fixed, maybe it's not too bad.
Overall, the second case of harps I received, due to Hohners generosity, are well worth the money. The case that is included is worthwhile also these 7 harps play well.
This is a followup on the situation of the 7 pack Blues Band harmonicas. I sent 3 of the harps back to Hohner, after a fone call, and aqlso had a Hohner 532 that had a bad number 1 hole. I received the 532 back, I am not sure they didn't replace it with a new one, and a 'new' Blues Band 7 pack. I was really surprised to get them. And they all play good. And it didn't take too long either.
These are beginners harps. The price is low and the quality is not high. But at the same time, they are playable and as a function of the quality, they are not real loud, so you won't disturb folks next door, unless you run them through an amp.
For the price, you get 7 harps and a fairly nice case for them, or for your better harps, if you should want to use the case for your better harps. The case is reinforced fabric covered with a plush looking inside and little pockets for the harps to be cradled in.
