I have never written a review but felt I needed to here. I'll start by saying that I play mostly delta blues on guitar(slide, etc.) and have been playing the harp for about 2 years. I enjoy playing both insruments together but have been frustrated with traditional holders as they require that you bend your neck to reach the harp as they are set at a "one size fits all" height. on top of that, I learned to play by tilting my harp on an angle for the best embouchure. this cant be done on a trad. holder. Then I found this baby. I was hesitant because of the cost, but decided my musical happiness was worth it. I gotta say it's been one of my better purchase decisions. This holder is phenomenal. I get the best height and angle and my sound has improved greatly. It's solidly constructed and easy to use Comfort is just ok but so were the others. It holds Lee Oscars well and since these are the only harps I use I cant really comment on how it will hold other harps. Well worth the money.

Unit is impressive as far as features but the unforgivable drawback is that the harmonica clamp is not "tacky" enough to grip the harmonica so if you use too much pressure, your harp will slip thru the back of the clamp. I use an old "Blues Tool" holder (no longer made) which the Hohner was obvioulsy based off of and mine actually has a "lip" on the clamp to secure the harp. If Hohner would have done this then the unit would be 100%.

Comments about Hohner Flex Rack Harmonica Neck Holder:

I have to admit, when I read other reviews, I was dubious about getting it. I took the chance and am really happy with this device. I'm a bigger man and it fits me just right.
I would strongly recommend this device.

Comments about Hohner Flex Rack Harmonica Neck Holder:

I like the concept. Design is okay but could use some tweaking. Mine had to be drilled for an adjusting hole because of the height. Once I dropped it down ¾" it fits good. You can modify if needed.

Comments about Hohner Flex Rack Harmonica Neck Holder:

The thought of a more stable, secure rack was alluring. However, I find no worthwhile improvement that would make me want to keep it. I find it bulky and a little cumbersome to adjust. Once it is adjusted it does stay put for sure. Furthermore, it will not fit in my harmonica case as the old one did. When I adjusted it to fit me it was basically the same as the old school rack. Some things better left alone. Lesson learned.

Too big and hard to change. I don't like that it doesn't have a stop on the bottom and harps can fall out if you push on it too hard. I like the Lee Oscar much better and have exchanged it for one of those.

After using this beauty I threw out the three cheap holders!! This is soooo much more comfortable than the cheapies and much more stable. I found it not only very comfortable but because of this a joy to use!! Yes it's expensive, but I found it very much worth the money!!

It reminds me of a face guard on a football helmet. It is well made and works like it should, but I prefer my old (light-weight) wire harmonica holder. I sent this one back to Musicians Friend.

I should of have listened to the reviews. This product is hard to handle with one hand. It does not open wide enough to hold fat harmónicas. The only feature I liked is the capacity to angle the head for which it earned a second star, but what's the point if I can't handle it quickly when I'm performing? I'm returning this product.

Comments about Hohner Flex Rack Harmonica Neck Holder:

Ive used harmonica braces for the past 30-years and this is a true disappointment. I was excited when this unit was announced and couldn't wait to get one so I could experience 'true fit & comfort'. Nothing could be further from the truth. This unit was obviously never 'peer reviewed' before being brought to market. Every adjustment takes two hands and even then the harp falls out the back of the brace. The unit is big, cumbersome, not designed to fit a human, and will not slip on and off over the head without two hands and a full readjustment each time. And then, in 2 months, it starts falling apart... threads became stripped and screws backed off by themselves...never to be seen again. I have harp braces that are more than 20-years old and never had this kind of problem. I tried to communicate with Hohner about making this right and they never responded to my e-mails. Thankfully, Musician's Friend agreed to take the 'flex rack' back after 4-months (with a 15% restocking fee). Thanks Musician's Friend! Hohner...I'm beginning to understand why you're losing market share to Lee Oskar and Suzuki.
