A deeper voice for the melodica ensemble!

I first heard this instrument from a Defacto record and I was amazed by the crazy sound of what I thought was a heavily distorted trumpet or synth. Eventually I found out it what it was and I quickly bought one of my own. Its a solid instrument and comes with a how to guide and a case. The only drawback is that is a bit pricey.
I get this melodica hoping to incorparate it into my music for fun. It's a very fun instrument to play, and most people have never seen one before so they like its unique accordian-like sound. But there are 3 or 4 notes the hardly work. You can hold them down and blow, but the wont make noise, or it takes an extreme amount of breath and they finally start sounding, which messed up your rhythms and sound. So I can really only use it if I write music that avoids those notes, which is a pain.Fun for the novelty, but not an ideal instrument. Maybe the more expensive/different melodicas are better.
I have been playing an alto melodica for many years and have always been very pleased. I am not a musician, but have found this melodica very easy to learn to play. It gives a very pleasing sound when played in single notes. If I have any criticism, is is very minor. My first melodica, purchased in 1969 had a spit button that could be pressed to blow spit out. The current version only has a plastic flap to cover the spit hole. This isn't as convenient, and looks like it will break off with use. Other than that, I love it.
