The Iceman brings rocking looks to the island sound.
It's got the look and the tone to let the audience know you mean business. The Ibanez UIC10 Iceman ukulele has all the appointments and tone that you have always been looking for in a concert-sized body with rock 'n' roll attitude.
The sweet-toned, nylon-stringed ukulele originated in 19th century Hawaii. It gained great popularity in the U.S. during the early 20th century, and spread internationally from there.
The IUC10 Iceman is a concert-sized ukulele that is slightly larger and louder than a soprano size and has deeper tone. The figured cutaway lends comfort when accessing the upper-register frets, and gives the instrument a slick appearance. The body is built from sapele, a strong wood with lots of upper-mid range presence and plenty of projection. The neck is mahogany, complementing this instrument's strength in construction and tone.
The chrome open-gear tuners keep precise tuning from song to song, and the rosewood bridge and fretboard produce lasting sustain and clarity in each note. Dressed in an elegant black high-gloss finish, the Iceman looks as good as it sounds

Well got it because it seemed like the best value of all the ukuleles at the concert level. I really love the cut away on the uke, and it does not affect the volume at all. Oh yah and its definetly louder than a soprano. I would know, i have a lanika lu 21. The tuners are really high quality and it keeps tune even in its gigbag. everything else like intonation and fretbuzz is all good, i.e. no fret buzz.
I love Ibanez, and I love the Iceman design. I also own a IC400, so I thought this would match nicely. I wasn't expecting much in sound quality due to the exotic shape of this acoustic, but sounds good for a concert size. It is built with the same great quality all of my Ibanez products are.
