This is my first ukelele. A Christmas present from my wife.
I have played guitars, mandolins, dobros, banjos, etc. for 50 years. Ukelele is just fun, easy (for experienced fingers) to learn. It is quiet, well mannered and unobtrusive when out in public.
I have been spending a lot of time recently in hospital rooms (with sick relatives). It helps people relax, almost a therapeutic tool. I havent hooked it up to a amplifier yet, so can't comment on that.
Quality is Ibanez's usually great work.
I have read that some ukes are hard to keep in tune. My uke stays in tune without problems. Play all day, and stays in tune.
This uke comes with a built in tuner that works just fine.
Also comes with a little black, zipp-up bag to carry it in.
Only bad thing about this uke is that my wife has become a addict. So I am having to buy another uke, I am getting the Fender concert (used) for my wife to learn on.
I have bought several guitars, drums, and other music equipment over the years from Musicians Friend and have nothing but good things to say about them.

I bought this instrument due to all the great reviews it kept getting. The first one that arrived had horrendous buzzing that drowned out the otherwise pretty tone of the instrument. I returned it and received a second which had even worse buzzing than the first one! Grief-stricken, I returned that and asked for a third. The third one arrived and that had bad buzzing too! Normally it wouldnt be an issue, but ukulele's don't have tress rods making it impossible to adjust the neck. Despite all logic, I tried one last time and asked for a 4th one and to my amazement it had no buzzing, but there was a terrible sharpness to the 10th fret (on the A string). I sent that back and now I have no electric acoustic ukulele, which is saddening.

I appreciated everything Musicians Friend did on their end to help, but this instrument is cheaply mass produced. While again it looks beautiful in appearance, the tone and quality just aren't there. For a cheap starter uke I would understand, but this is clearly an intermediate to advanced instrument. I have read of some people having great experiences with it, and maybe I just got really unlucky (4 times), but that's my two cents for anyone considering this instrument.

I have a friend who bought one and it is such a nice ukelele, that I decided to order one for myself. Well the one I got was a nice looking little ukulele but it had to be re tuned after every song. Tightening the tuning pegs had no effect, so I returned it and bought one here in Hawaii. Musician's Friend gave such excellent service I bought another guitar from them. Back ordered but hopefully it will get here!

Comments about Ibanez UEW30RWE EW Concert Ukulele:

After three years on the guitar I wanted a party instrument; something I could take to socials without worrying about size or being too demanding a sound. I researched a number of Ukes before buying because I didn't wan't to end up with something that wasn't fun to play (ideally I could have tried the competitors out in a shop, but it couldn't happen).

When this came in the mail, I was disappointed at first because the strings were stretching more than I am used to on a classical guitar and were really buzzy. However, as I got used to the instrument, the in-box Aquilas got older and the instrument sat in a high humidity area, the fretboard filled out and the buzzing is all but gone. Haven't played a lot with the pickups, but they sound clean at low volumes, so I have no complaints there.

I'm glad I gave this model a chance, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an instrument of higher-end quality at intermediate price.

When I saw the ukulele I instantly fell in love! It looks and feel great. Comes with a cable and zip up case. The pick-ups sound awesome on it to! Way better to plug-in then mic a uke. I always get complimented on it when I have it. I have no complaints!

Comments about Ibanez UEW30RWE EW Concert Ukulele:

This is a beautiful instrument. The wood is gorgeous.
I did not like its sound when I first got it. I don't like the sound or feel of the Aquila strings that come with it. I put some Marvin concert uke strings on it, which made it sound and feel SO much better. It works wonderfully plugged into my Ditto Looper and Acoustic G20 amp. The electric sound is great.
It has two or three frets (5 and 6) on the C and E string that buzz slightly when played loudly (but not when played normally). However, its hardly noticeable, especially when plugged in to the amp, and I've decided to just live with it.
Great tone and sustain otherwise. (with the Marvin strings)

This is a very well built instrument and great value for the money. The neck is glued into the body as opposed to being screwed in like in cheaper ukes. The instrument looks beautiful and the finish is really immaculate. The tone is great acoustically as well as through the built in pickup (nice for recording too). Great buy!

Comments about Ibanez UEW30RWE EW Concert Ukulele:

Unique style, good sound, and being electric are all quality attributes in my mind. I'm really happy with this Uke and would recommend it easily.
I was surprised how nice this uke was. It has great style, sound, easy to play, and plugged in it is amazing.
                    Solid and unique in style.
A little pricy, but I'm sure if I compared it with one of the cheaper one's I would think it was a deal.
