I have been playing harmonica since a I was about 8 years old.. way past 50 years now.. and I have to say, after spending hundreds of dollars to keep replacing Hohners over the past several years, I am now a Confirmed Jambone Fan! Bought a 3 pack of "A"'s back in December of 06, just switched to my second one this past weekend when I noticed just a slight "out-of-tune" note in the middle. Every Hohner I have played in the past 10 years or so never lasted more than 6 months at the most! Can't explain it, but don't have to now that I've got my Jambones!

I bought several of these just to try some keys that I did not have. They are very hard to play, and have some out of tune notes. The sound quality is poor. I was soon discouraged with them, and gave them away to an elderly shut-in who used to play, but now can't afford to buy much. He was thrilled to get them, but the next time that I saw him, he commented that they were "kids' toys". I should have bought one good harmonica.

Comments about Jambone Harmonica:
These are good cheap student harmonicas equivalent to other $10 harps. I'd probubly recomend a set of piedmont blues simply because they come in a set with a case, but for a single harmonica to learn on these are the best I have found. They do come with an individual plastic case. They are regular harmonica weight so they feel right. They come in a range of keys and with a little tune and embose. they will play with a special 20. I even keep couple in my case.
Pros
- It's cheap alright
Cons
- Poor tone leaks air
Best Uses
- Give or throw away
Comments about Jambone Harmonica:
The Jambone is a toy at best. It takes a ton of air to produce minimal volume. I bought some to give away at a workshop that I'm teaching and I won't even bother giving them away. If you're at all serious about Harmonica, go with a Special 20, which I consider the best value in the Hohner line. And if money is a real concern go with a Big River, Old Standby or even a Piedmont Blues harp which will still run circles around the Jambone. If the Jambone was the only harp I had.. I'd take up the spoons..McFly

Don't waste your money.
I purchased a few Jambone Harmonicas in various keys to fill in my collection. I didn't expect much and I didn't get much. A Jambone is basically a child's toy. They just barely play at all. The sound lousy next to my Special 20's. If you want a good harmonica at a good price, look at purchasing a Huang Silvertone Deluxe. They cost about a third of the cost of a Special 20 and play and sound nearly as good.
Not much quality to speak of.
It's cheap but for just a few dollars more you can get real quality.
Comments about Jambone Harmonica:
A lot of it depends on how well the DVD teaches me to play. I'm completely satisfied with the harp, now I just need to learn how to play it. Specifically Blues tunes.
This appears to be as good a harp as a Honer Marine Band. I don't have a lot of experience...yet. But I will shortly after buying a "how -to" DVD from Musicians Friend along with the Jambone. I've blown on it and it sounds to have good sharp and clear air flow and notes coming out of it. I've tried some that can have a raspy, ratttly sound. Maybe that's good for guys that have been blowing seroius harp through a mic. But it sounds "off" to me. So, I'm looking forward to getting started and adding a new voice to my musicality.
As stated before, it appears to be as good a a Honer Marine Band.
It was a great value on sale. Plus I believe I may have gotten the last one available at that price. BONUS!
Comments about Jambone Harmonica:
Got these to give to the little kids wanting to participate in the children's praise team. We made a lot of noise, and they were low risk investments and proved to be pretty tough instruments than can be used again. I got all the keys, but C & G were bought in bulk to hand to the little kids. Six year olds on these make a lot of noise in the song, but no amplification gave them the feel of being a part of the songs.
Comments about Jambone Harmonica:
I've had several of these, and been more or less satisfied. They play respectably, and for the price, they're great. I've jammed up about 4 in the key of G, because i take them everywhere, and i'm not to careful with them. Don't bend well, but you can play with enough expression to jam with your buddies. Not performance pieces. I was disappointed with the one i got most recently. Every note is slightly sharp. It's consistent, so i can tune my guitar accordingly, but it's noticeable otherwise.
