Comments about Kentucky KM-140 Standard A-Model Mandolin:
I had done extensive research on the various mandolin brands as I am a novice player. Tone was very important to me. When I finally settled on the Kentucky, I realised that they were slightly out of my budget. Musicians Friend has a "blemished" section and after reading the reviews of other customers, I decided to try it. I had already examined some mandolins in the local music store, read countless reviews and listened to Youtube videos. This mandolin arrived in mint condition. It was in better condition than the store instruments that I looked at. And I do not have to tune it every time I play it. It is a beautiful instrument.
I also purchased a carrying case, not a bag as a vendor had explained to me how important it was to guard the headstock. (Fortunately, this particular mandolin has a truss rod. ) I purchased a mandolin case for under fifty from another site. The mandolin fits perfectly. Again, I did research.
I am pleased with the purchase with the purchase of this mandolin. Thank you Musicians Friend.
