Comments about Kentucky KM-300E Electric Mandolin:

I am new to the mandolin, but i have played guitar for 20 years. This mandolin holds a tune very well and is a great fill for many songs. Just like a 6 string vs. a 12 string guitar, this 4 string mandolin is much easier to keep in tune, and sounds great with chorus effects.

Comments about Kentucky KM-300E Electric Mandolin:

I bought mine several years ago. It came with a great finish. I like the styling and the four strings make it easy to play. The factory setup was correct and tuning is easy. Even after sitting for weeks it keeps tune well, depending upon temp and humidity. It is very heavy so a standard mandolin strap will not hold it up. As the advertisement says 'it has a sound of its own'. Not quite mandolin and not quite electric guitar.

Raising the tune knob above mid level can give a tinny sound that is not pleasing. It can be used with many amplifier settings, like a guitar, and the sounds are great.

I also own several acoustic mandolins.
