I ordered this uke because it seemed like a nice middle of the road instrument. The reviews were mostly very good. Overall I'm pleased, but like one other reviewer, I can't keep the 'E' string in tune, and it's going sharp, not flat like one would expect from new strings. The tuners are very smooth. The sound quality is good overall. The back has a mark on it that looks like a small patch, but it does not affect the sound, so I live with it. Also there is a scratch on the back that can only be seen when the light hits it just right. Finally, the description said it came with an instruction book. Mine did not, but Musician's Friend is going above and beyond by sending me a replacement.

I find the instrument to be decent but for the price, 2 and 1/2 times the price of lu21c, the sound and playability are no different. The instrument is beautiful but I did expect it to sound better. If you have extra money for looks, then buy ne of these, if you want similar instrument, as far as sound and playability , get something like the lc21c.

Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
I got this ukulele about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it. I decided to go with the concert size since I had already learned a little bit on a cheap soprano and since I'm primarily a guitarist, I thought it would be more comfortable. This ukulele sounds fantastic and plays smooth as butter. It does not, however, look like the picture. They must've picked their best one ever for that. If you look at the picture for the Lanikai CK-T, that is a better idea of what the wood is gonna look like. No complaints though, it's still a beautiful ukulele and the maple binding takes it to another level. It comes with Aquila Nylgut strings and they make this uke really come alive. I won't use any other kind of uke strings.

Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
Well I bought this thing roughly a year ago. I figured I'd spend a little extra to get a quality uke and I ended up with this. Well, it has pretty decent intonation and the tuners work pretty well. However the craftsmanship is pretty questionable. Felt as thought the uke was unfinished. The binding wasn't rounded so the edges were sharp. The first time I played it I actually had it cut into my arm while I was holding it. I mean, I really didn't feel like going through the process of returning it and all that time consuming business because I already had to deal with the shotty customer service of Bushman. Not saying Musicians Friend's customer service is any way bad, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. I just filed the edges down and went along my way. I've been pretty happy with it, but I wish I bought something with better quality like a Kala.

Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
I'm new to playing the ukulele. So new, that I had no idea what the tuning of it was until i looked it up after receiving my CK-C. To make a long story short, it's absolutely gorgeous. The markings on the one I bought are drop-dead stunning. The sound quality is much like any ukulele I've heard professionals play. Easy to pick up and learn, and it's obvious that this instrument will be with me for a long time. Buy it.
Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
I bought this uke locally here in Honolulu to replace stolen Kamakas. It was what I needed to get back to playing with out taking out a bank loan. I was utterly surprised at it's tone and workmanship. Mine isn't as "Curly" as the discription notes, however, it's going on 7 yrs old and is a player of the first order. I would recommend Lanikai to anyone either advanced or just interested.
Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
I had a chance to play approx. 15 ukulele's before I bought my CK-C. None sounded as good at this price point and I would have to buy an instrument at 2-3 times the cost to get a better sound. Altogether, this is an outstanding ukulele!
Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
This Uke has rich sounds, beautiful wood and great craftsmanship. My only problem is the "E" string gets out of tune after 30-40 min of playing, but it's brand new, so it's expected. Haven't had to tune the others after about 6 hours of playing. I would definitely recommend!
Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
This is my first uke and I'm very happy with it. The top on mine has some very nice dark streaks through it and a decent amount of curl. The maple bindings make for a beautiful contrast with the koa. It has the maple bindings around the front, rear, on the heelcap, backstripe and the seam where an endpin would go. Workmanship is very nice throughout. It comes strung up with Aquila Nylgut strings and has nice enclosed tuners. Not sure what brand the tuners are, but they are pretty smooth. Not quite sure how to describe the sound, but I am well pleased with it. I bought some new tuners from Bushman with pearl buttons to dress her up a little. The screenprint label on the headstock reeks of cheap on an otherwise first class instrument, but I have to remind myself that this is not their flagship model. The fretends have been beveled, but not rounded. That is something I will fix myself with my new fret end file. The inlay work is very nice, but the 10th fret marker throws me off. I'm used to having a 9th fret mark on guitars. Overall a nice uke. I have no regrets at all in purchasing this fine instrument.
Comments about Lanikai CK-C Concert Ukulele:
I've had the Ck-c for about a month now, and I can honestly say it's some of the best money I've ever spent! I don't get tired of playing it! The tone is beautiful, and the volume it puts out is impressive. The low action is perfect and there is no "buzzing" on any of the frets. In addition to it's awesome sound, it looks gorgeous! With the solid koa body and neck, chrome tuners, and the inlayed rosewood fretboard.. it's the most beautiful instrument I own. Trust me, it's worth every penny!
