    i bought this ukulele i was looking for something better so,  i replaced my

    Rogue  Ukulele Starter Pack  for this new one and this product is awful is  like a toy  and has a lot of deffects. the sound its awful too, honestly  I   prefer my old ukulele but i sold it and  i am really regret a bout  it I am gonna try to fix  my new one  but i am not very shure i can.

    Just received this Lanikai as replacement for my Rogue ukulele (which was really horrible), and I regret to report that the quality control for this uke was also not up to snuff.      There is a crack in the neck where the nut is glued, and the wood has various gouges that nobody even made an effort to sand out.      The geared tuners are better than the friction tuners found on other ukes at this price point, but that's not enough to overcome the basic defects in workmanship.      A real pity...

    When I first saw the box I already was disappointed, its obviously a toy, there's a picture of a little girl playing it on a bright colorful box intended to attract children. The tuners wont stay tuned, you have to screw them  in the back really tight to make it work, there's little plastic disks on the front of the tuning pegs that are just loose and buzz and flop around. The strings that come on this appear to be plastic but they are horrible, they wont keep tuned even after stretching and hours of play. I fixed the tuners and plan on buying new strings, hopefully I didn't waste my money.

    I bought this just to try it.  I was very surprised by the quality of the sound. Geared tuning pegs are important. I dropped it, broke it glued it together and now I play it constantly. Good Value and a sure bet.

    Upon recieving this uke I was pleasantly suprised.  It can produce an alright sound with new strings and for the price it is unbeatable.  Mine has no problem with fret buzz, although the intonation is a bit off up the neck but what do you expect for this price?
