The uke plays well.  I bought it used and the strings were worn. For the price, I am satisfied with my purchase and the service.

I have always been satisfied with products I purchase.  I am not surprised when I receive my orders.  This uke had no scratches and holds tune well, even with old strings.

I really dig this ukulele!      I've had it for over a year now and it's still fun to play.      I'm a working composer/guitarist that needed a ukulele for a job.      I really didn't know anything about ukuleles going into this purchase, only that I wanted a baritone.      It has a charming sound...not awesome, but charming.      It had some issues with goofy frets and the action is sort of high (no truss rod), but the intonation is fine (very important).      That said, I wasn't expecting greatness at this price point.

Its cute, fun to wail on, and because its fairly inexpensive I have no problem handing it to my young children or drunken friends.      I've recorded with it a few times and it sounds fine in a mix too.

Overall, a great first ukulele.

Good and Bad

Good: Price is great as is the sound.      The body is up to expectations      for this price range.      Nice strings and size is great for my larger      fingers, Really pretty easy to play.      OK for beginners.

The Bad: Fret board is not worthy of the body.      The frets required end      sanding (sharp) and there are several glue spots between the frets.      The      finish is very bad.      The inserts have been sanded after installation      and are very obvious inconsistant with the grtain.      I may unstring and      see if I can clean this up.

I was considering upgrading to the Curly KOA bu the fret board quality has cancelled that idea. I'll look elsewhere.

GOOD & TRUSTY UKULELE

CONSTRUCTION: Solid! Perfect white binding around the open grain body. Inside the body shows perfectly glued binding with no overspill due to pressure; clean appearance. Solid bridge also with an open grain (they also did a good job of wrapping the strings around the base of the bridge) Good neck with a slight and gradual upward bow due to string tension. No dead spots on the neck. Leveled frets with nice beveled edges (not rounded which is nice to the touch but they did a good job overall on the fretwork.)Solid nut fitted snug into place. The headstock has some nice closed machined Grover style tuners. I don't know what the gear ratio is on the tuners but they hold the strings perfectly in tune. SOUND: Nice warm sound, big well defined notes. If you want to get more treble while playing then play near the bridge. Playing closer to the neck will give you more bass, also try using your thumb for added warmth. Around the 12th fret is the sweet spot! The Nato (a type of Mahogany) has a darker sound than the traditional Koa, the open grain on this body also helps the body resonate fuller when the strings vibrate. VERSATILITY: You can get all the notes like on a regular 6 string guitar minus the E and A strings. If you want to get a Soprano tuning and sound, simply get a ukulele capo and set it on the 5th fret. WALLAH! Buy with your ears not with your eyes or wallet. For being made in China, i must say that this is a really fair price and a well built instrument.
