Straight from the creative minds at their concept shop Lanikai are proud to introduce the Lanikai Quilt Ash Series. Lanikai has paired a special batch of quilted ash with a solid spruce top creating a series of ukuleles that has a bright lilting tone that is perfect for the stage or your recording session.
A custom wide bone nut was used for greater string spacing making these instruments easy to play. Mahogany body binding, skunk stripe and butt stripe compliment the understated natural satin finish of the LQA series. Gold plated geared tuning machines and the new Prestige Lanikai Logo add to the charm of these fine instruments.
A tenor ukulele is slightly larger than the concert size and has greater volume and tone than smaller ukuleles. It's a great choice size for most performing soloists.
A magic combination of solid spruce top and quilt ash back and sides.

Comments about Lanikai LQA-TCA Quilt Ash Tenor Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Ukulele w/Fishman Preamp:
Right out of the packaging, the uke had dings along the front edge and dusty particles in the front's finish. Not fit at all as an intended gift. I don't blame Lanikai for gluing a cheesy plastic sticker on the head; obviously they hoped it would soon fall off.
Overall, the finish was very rough---satin is one thing, sandpaper is another. Could not easily slide along the neck, and the body amplified the scratchy sound as I touched it while trying to play. This unit either needed one more coat or a light sanding before going out the door.
The "electric" part of the acoustic-electric just would not work; I swapped out several batteries, tried them one way and the other, turned the dials back and forth---no sound through my guitar-tested amp. None.
