I received this instrument a year ago. This is one of the best Ukuleles you can purchase for this general price range. I've been very pleased with it.

The body of the Ukulele looks sharp and professional. It is also fairly dent resistant. The sound quality can be a little bit better with different strings, but overall the tone is exceptional for the cost. It also stays in tune very well, better than many of my guitars.

The fretboard on mine has good play-ability, but it isn't the best built. It is painted black, and in spots, the paint doesn't look very professional (there is a very small amount on the rims of some of the frets, and a tiny amount on the wooden neck on my Ukulele). Mine has also worn a bit faster than I would have expected, but at a glance the fretboard looks good as new.

Overall, this is a GREAT tool for anyone considering playing the Ukulele. This is my only ukulele at the moment. I play it all of the time, and I don't plan on upgrading. It's a great instrument.

I bought this for my 5 year old Grand daughter to see if she would take to an instrument before spending bucks on a smaller guitar. Surprised! Not bad for the price. The keys have a little play but hold their tune pretty well even with a 5 year old strumming on it. Happy with the purchase. Plan to get her the guitar for Christmas. 2 days and she is playing 2 chords while singing and strumming in time and on key. Happy I am. Thinking of buying one of the better models for myself as well.

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

I have been playing string instruments for years, including the uke, so I am rather critical of less expensive instruments. I bought two of these ukes for my adult sons' Christmas, and was impressed with the high quality of the construction and tone. the action was good and the intonation (usually the biggest factor on inexpensive instrument) was outstanding. They really loved them! I highly reccomend these ukes.

    Great Instrument!

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

I would highly recomend this product to anyone starting the Ukulele, and even anyone who plays a lot!
Ok, so I have been a musician for over 8 years. Love to play music. I had a few friends that played Ukulele, and it looked like fun so I bought one. I have somewhat of a low budget, so I was trying to shoot for under $60. After researching just about every Ukulele on the site in the price range, I decided that this one seemed like the best quality by a longshot.
I recieved my Ukulele in great condition. Strings were attached, and no scratches on the body. This Ukulele delivers a great tone! One of my friend's paid over $100 for his Ukulele, and the other was $80, but in comparison, mine sounds better.

The only thing that I feel like I could count off for (because everything else is awesome), is the painted fretboard. It is painted black, it doesn't have the best paint work. There are a few hard-to-notice places where the paint is on the golden frets, and the paint is slightly uneven, but overall I think it looks great!

    First One I've Owned

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

Looks great, sounds like you would expect it to. This is probably not something you would perform with professionally, but it feels solid and seems to have a good sounding tone.
Basic instrument, looks very nice, finish is rich and it looks very high quality
I bought this a a gift, so all I've done is take it out of the box and make sure it isn't broken. I've never had a ukulele before, but it appears that it is well made, it fees solid and the tuning machines seem to be of good quality.
Great value at the price. Looks great, sounds like you would expect it to. This is probably not something you would perform with professionally, but it fees solid and seems to have a good sounding tone.

    My review

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

Awesome, just simply awesome. The strings are very new so they are still stretching, so it's annoying to have to tune it so often but give me practice as a new-uke player
When I opened it up I was so excited, it is so pretty, well put together. I haven't seen anything wrong with it. This is my first ukulele, and I'm very excited to learn. The book that they send with it could be a little more informative, but other than that it's awesome. I love the way they strung the uke because it's so neat at the end.

This is for nothing more than a beginner

    By danthesexygarbageman

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

Well i bought this uke to learn on with the intention of upgrading later. well what a mistake. it took me a total of about 20 minutes to learn about 15 chords...so much just to learn on. if i were to do it over again i would get an acoustic-electric (i now own the lu-21te). so if you have any intention of upgrading in the near future, just do it now before you buy this. dont get me wrong, this isn't that bad of an instrument. it has decent tone and good projection, but it is a beginners instrument. i rated it so low in quality for 2 reasons: the fretboard and bridge. they are both nato wood painted black. the paint job is uneven. it looks as though a kinder-gardener painted it. the construction seems solid enough though. just looks terrible. instead of buying this, i would just upgrade to at least the lu-21 because at least that has rosewood and binding.

This ukulele is a good beginners ukulele. The fret board was painted horribly and it doesn't stay in tune very well. Over all if your a beginner, this is a good ukulele.

This is my first uke, got it today and its amazing. The strings are a little flimsy but that can be fixed. Comes with a great little booklet teaching strumming pattrens, etc. Deffiently recommend this ukulele!

    Excellent Quality for Price Paid

Comments about Lanikai LU-11 Standard Ukulele:

This ukulele arrived a full 4 days ahead of time, packaged very nicely with no damage at all. It has great sound when tuned up, and it has been great for learning to play. It certainly isn't a professional-grade uke, but it's great for a high school student such as myself that just wants to have fun playing a somewhat different instrument.
