Lanikai

An excellent Hawaiian ukulele featuring beautiful sounding and eye-pleasing koa tonewood.

Lanikai offers the NK Natural Koa Ukulele as a striking edition to the Lanikai Custom series. This Lanikai ukulele is constructed from gorgeous woods with exotic figuring and highly contrasting tones due to special construction techniques and a meticulous process used for selection.

The NK (Natural Koa) ukuleles display Lanikai's commitment to tradition by crafting these instruments with solid koa tops and koa back and sides. This NK-T ukulele is a tenor size and features a mahogany neck, die-cast tuners, abalone binding, koa headstock overlay, and come equipped with Aquila strings. "The long-established use of koa on ukuleles is no accident, the tones produced by this wood is synonymous with the ukulele itself," says Drew Lewis, product manager, adding "Nothing sounds or looks like koa."

This ukulele is strung with Aquila Nylgut Strings.

Features

  • Tenor ukulele
  • Koa top, back, and sides
  • Rosewood fretboard

Comments about Lanikai NK-T Natural Koa Tenor Ukulele:

The quality of this uke is what every Musician should want, and get from this purchase. It's great for blues, reggae, or traditional folk styles of music. I really have enjoyed mine since I made the purchase in April for [$]. I see the prices are still rising on everything so folks if you're into ukes, and you're looking to upgrade don't hesitate. It hangs with the best of them. Ciao.

Lanikai Natural Koa tenor Ukulele

By Carl Holmes

Comments about Lanikai NK-T Natural Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I guess thats why the price was right
First of all the service of Musicians Friend was absolutely great.

The Ukulele is ok for the price, it soulds great but the finish was less than good. It has a solit Koa top which in nice, the binding of the neck and the abalone work are also nice.
Big globs of glue were visible at the sould hole, several imperfections in the finish on the back and around the binbings. There is a noticeable patch in the back Koa laminate and much stain color bleeding onto the maple bindings.
I guess that the walue is gook but I would have liked a little more attention to detail.

Lanikai NK-T Ukulele

Comments about Lanikai NK-T Natural Koa Tenor Ukulele:

I love my new Lanikai NK-T Ukulele. The wood is nice, not overly figured and the abalone is a beautiful touch. It tunes well and the intonation and action are great. It has a nice tone but this is my first uke so I have nothing to compare it to.

Lanikai NK-T Uke

By JVO

from Columbus, Ohio

Comments about Lanikai NK-T Natural Koa Tenor Ukulele:

This Uke is worth every penny! I bought it last year when it was on sale and used a coupon and only paid $220 shipped with a free case, obviously that price was much better than the one now, but its still worth every penny. The Uke is very well built for the money, sounds like Koa, looks unreal in person, and has a lot of nice features. The strings are $15 alone, the tuners are $75 Ebony/Gold grover 18:1's, the Abalone is gorgeous, the finish is urethane (not a cheap satin), and its very comfortable to play. Overall, its the best Koa Tenor uke you can buy on the market for less than $600, play it and love it!
