With its solid monkey pod body, Lanikai's SMP-T tenor ukulele has incredible projection with an exotic and enviable appearance. Gold-plated Grover tuning machines ensure long hours of stress-free playing.

The tenor body produces a clear ukulele tone, with a bit more projection than the standard soprano body. It's ideal for on-stage performance”whether rhythmic strumming, or working out some inspired melodies; the projection and clarity of this tenor uke is significant.

Unadorned by synthetic enhancements, this series captures the pure essence and beauty of the natural world. This ukulele features a solid top, back, and sides, slotted headstock, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, maple and rosewood skunk stripe and an ovangkol neck. A custom wide bone nut was used to increase the string spacing, making these ukuleles more comfortable for guitarists who are expanding their sonic palette with the ukulele.

Great sound/Sharp edges

By William Johnston

Comments about Lanikai SMP-T Solid Monkey Pod Tenor Ukulele:

Iv'e had my Lanikai SMP-T for a week now. The uke has great sound, intonation and holds a tune with the Aquila strings. The action is a bit harder than i expected and i will shave a couple of mm's off the bridge. My main complaint is the sharpness of the edges where the top meets the sides. It is actually uncomfortable to play if your arm is touching the instrument. Aside from the action and the edges it's a beautiful instrument with a great sound.
Aside from the edges issue I would say the quality is about what you'd expect from a less expensive instrument.

Comments about Lanikai SMP-T Solid Monkey Pod Tenor Ukulele:

Bought this as a Stupid Deal of the Day. What a deal. The tone is getting better everyday as the wood begins to pick up moisture and mellow out. Set up right out of the box was great. Fast action and very playable all the way up the neck. No buzzing and nice clean notes.

I would recommend this ukulele to someone.

Comments about SMP-T Solid Monkey Pod Tenor Ukulele:

This is my first ukulele. It is easy to play and sounds good. I have 4 guitars, 2 mandolins, and one banjo. I thought I should try a ukulele and I'm not disappointed with this one.
