Deep ovangkol woodwork and an onboard preamp makes this island 4-string a picker's dream.

The Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele aptly takes it's inspiration from the full moon at the first fret which causes the abalone wave fret markers below it to "rise" as they make their way up the fretboard towards the moon's pull. Luna High Tide ukes are crafted from exotic tropical hardwoods, and the Luna "full moon" sticker inside the soundhole is framed by an abalone ring.

This beautiful Luna ukulele features a deep ovangkol body, producing full, dynamic sound. The cutaway offers comfort when accessing the upper-register frets, and the nato/mahogany neck and rosewood bridge and fretboard add lasting sustain and clarity to your tone. The open-style tuners keep the instrument in precise tuning and the onboard preamp provides easy amplification that can be dialed in quickly. Dressed in a satin finish and featuring a rosewood binding, you won't believe your eyes with the ukulele's natural beauty.

      Includes a gig bag.

Comments about Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele:

I've had my eye on this uke for some time. When the Labor Day sale came up it was time. My first uke was a bargain basement model bought online from Woot. I thought either I'd like a uke or I wouldn't and if I didn't, I'd only be out a trio of Hamiltons. Yes, it was that cheap. Cheap in every way. I found I really liked the uke, but after almost two years, my entry model had issues. Imagine my delight when the Luna got tuned up and I played a D chord. Not just any D chord. A D chord in tune. All the chords are in tune. Amazing. The tuners actually allow fine changes in tuning. Good Grovers. The low fret action lets me play longer and chords are easier to finger. It's also a beautiful instrument and has a nice, rich, classic uke sound. I haven't had any of the issues reported by a few of the others and as far as I can tell, it was set up just fine. My only wish is for a strap nut on the body, but that's no big deal. I haven't used the on-board electronics yet but hope to soon. I gave it an "excellent" rating but really can't compare it to any other model or brand except for my old "toy." For me, it's excellent.

I'm a guitar player, not a uke player but I wanted to just see what I could learn on the instrument, the first day that I got it I learned how to play Hey Soul Sister, and my basic chords..This is Fun to play, and the Quality and design is really excellent. It sounds great nice tone to it and then plugged in I was even more impressed..If you have been thinking about buying this model I highly recommend it,the tone and quality is great, plus you even get the gig bag with it..Luna has a winner with this model and MF had this to my door in a few days..Thanks Luna and MF you both Rock!!

Comments about Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele:

Played in bands for over 30 years, and had gotten away from it. I wanted to get back to music, and thought this would be an easy way to pack an instrument (it is). Had the missus order thissun, and WOW, I was pleased with the honesty of the prior reviews! The tone is nice (I'm just starting on the Uke), the finish is very nice (small blemish on the back, but hey, I'll do worse, I'm sure), and it arrived in a surprisingly timely manner. Thanks MF..!

Comments about Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele:

I've had mine for about a month now. I bought it with the idea of teaching uke in addition to giving guitar lessons. I haven't taken any students yet, but I've had a great time learning the chord fingerings and playing just for fun. Transitioning from guitar to uke was no big deal at all, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the good intonation and playability. It's a nice looking instrument, and the electronics sound really good. It's just a lot of fun to have around.

Comments about Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele:

I'm a basically a string player, my primary instrument is guitar. I'm kind of a mostly retired semi-pro and older than dirt. I bought this just to fool around with and I'm gettin' my money out of it. It sounds good to me and far and away better than I expected through an amp. Since this is only the second uke I've had my hands on my experience with them is limited. BUT I'm been a player all my life and know good instruments when I hear them. I am astounded at the chords available on a uke if you look for them. I'd like the gig bag to be more like what Ovation used for their mandolin, nice and thick. Other than that I have no issues with it. I will put it on the bandstand at some future date.

          Great Uke!

          By Dan J

Comments about Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele:

This Uke is great! I've been looking at this tenor ukulele for some time. I wanted to hear it before I bought it, but not many store fronts stock it. I took a leap and got it anyway. I'm so happy I did what a great sounding uke. It not only sounds good it looks great too! I cant keep my eyes and hands off of it. Out of the box it sounded awesome. The acoustics are amazing. I had some problem with the preamp and had to take it out and reconnect the wires, but so far so good. Plugged in it sounds good, the pick up is very sensitive. Works well with guitar effects. The body is very light. the finish is a beautiful satin. The abalone inlay really makes me think of the ocean in the moon light. It is also equipped with Aquila strings which is a plus! If you want a great sounding Tenor uke and a good looking one to boot, scoop this one up.
