OVERVIEW

Mahogany woods, traditional size, hawaiian body ornamentation and some essential accessories.

This traditional concert uke takes its design from traditional hawaiian body ornamentation. Those designs were monochromatic, tattooed in black against brown skin, with strongly geometric patterns, and many shapes and symbols inspired by the natural island world: stones, waves, fish, sharks, turtles, rain, sun, birds. The design is primarily based on waves and sharks teeth which are also echoed as fret markers. This electric model adds the advantage of an onboard preamp. Comes bundled with a set of Martin M600 Standard Crystal Nylon Uke Strings, a Hercules Travlite Folk Instrument Stand and a Hardshell Concert Uke Case.

It took me a long time of roaming store to store to find my first concert ukulele. The tone had to be full, the intonation had to be good as you head up the neck, and it had to be fun to play. I finally found one, so when I was ready to buy an electric-acoustic version, I was pretty leery of getting it online. It was a huge leap, but knowing that Musician's Friend would stand behind the deal, I wasn't too worried.

I wasn't disappointed. In fact, this has become my new favorite acoustic player. The wood is more striped than I was expecting, but not unpleasantly so, and the design is clean and not over the top. This little beaut sounds great through an amp - I even plugged it into my Marshall MS-2 this morning, and it produced a sound I'd be very pleased with while busking. The electronics are quiet and strong enough for me. And it actually has BETTER intonation than my Lanikai.

I was going to buy this instrument, but found the bundle, which included a stand, set of strings, and a decent hardcase for less than the instrument alone - awesome bargain for a really nice concert acoustic-electric ukulele.

Buying an instrument on the web is always a bit of a gamble, but this one paid off big time, in my opinion.

the Uke was broken when it got here. a little wood glue and a clamp fixed it and it sounds OK for what it is. The case is awesome and the strings sound great. The stand is solid and works well. Again this is a good deal for what it is, just don't expect to much.

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

Overall this is a great little package for the price. Getting the uke, a nice hard case, a quality stand, and some extra strings makes this well worth the price.

The uke has a nice look, with the tattoo design etching and the light mahogany wood. I really like the concert size. AS the mama bear said " it's not too big and not too small, it's just right".

The pre-amp seems OK. I am pairing it with an Ibanez TA20. The sound for my home office is fine.

I have only had this uke for about ten days so the jury is still out on the tuning of the strings. I have to tweak each string a little each day when I pick it up to play, but I guess that's to be expected. The E string goes pretty far out of tune, much more than the other strings. I have tried tightening the screws on the tuner, but it doesn't seem to help. I am hoping everything will settle in after a while.

As I mentioned earlier, the hard case is very nice. It is made of a very firm, contoured foam, covered with cordura type nylon, and has a plush, form fit lining that includes a neck strap to help keep the uke in place. There is an outside and an inside pocket to carry a few small items. The outside pocket is just barely large enough to put a few pieces of sheet music in it.

The stand is all metal covered with a protective foam. It folds easily.

The Martin M600 strings are suppose to be nice. They are recommended as good replacement strings on several forums. I haven't tried them yet. The uke comes with nice Aquila strings.

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

This ukelele plays good enough for any gig. The pick-up does a good job in my opinion.

The tatoo is well crafted and it stays in tune well, now that the nylon strings have done their stretching.

I believe it's the right choice for somebody wanting to learn the uke because it plays good enough for any gig, and it is the most economical choice in my opinion.

I have seen a few professionals on Youtube playing the same ukelele, that alone helped me make my mind up about buying this uke.

A quality instrument, stand, and case at this price is almost unheard of. You get all that and a set of strings. If you've played a Luna uke, you know that it compares well with more expensive ones. Soft wood, great tone and projection, good looks, it's all there. The uke alone would be worth the price of this package. As a birthday gift for my daughter-in-law, it was unbeatable. You'll be pleased.

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

I play elec. guitar and keyboards for our contemporary service. We wanted to do some Rend Collective songs, and uke was an important sound that was missing. The Luna was the right price, and the right tool for the job. The Nylgut strings are great, and I'm sure the Martins will be too. The stand is very rugged, the case is well made, and the gigbag is nylon (not plastic). The preamp system and transducer sound great.
The saddle is slightly higher than I prefer, but that's an easy fix.

My first "guitar" was a uke, so this was like meeting up with an old friend!

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

After searching the net for a good deal on an ukulele, I was surprised to find this combo deal for such a good price. The reviews for the Luna Tattoo uke were great, and I took a chance. I could not be happier! Once I tuned it, the first chord to ring out was loud, and warm. Great tone! I didn't see any flaws at all on my uke. It is a work of art. It sounded great through an amp as well. I haven't played a ukulele in 17 years, so I'm still a novice, but if I do get better, I'll play it on stage right along with my Gretsch. To sum it all up; a great ukulele for the price, and it sounds great with or without an amp. The case is nice, and I would feel good to use it if I gigged with it. Oh, the stand is well built, and holds the uke just fine. A GREAT package deal. No regrets! Fast shipping, and packaged very well.

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

My first uke was a Cordoba tenor electric. It sounds great - bought in June 2013. I wanted a concert and the reviews seemed good overall. I had to wait -- but it was worth the wait. The tone is great, construction is solid. I use it as my local travel uke. The case protects the uke well. The string tension is good also. It sounds and feels like the factory does a setup on it. I recommend this uke as a first uke or as a backup uke. For many, it can serve as your concert uke.

Comments about Luna Guitars Tattoo Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele Bundle:

We bought the Luna Tattoo acoustic/electric uke bundle as a gift for my son. The bundle was out of stock but shipped two weeks earlier than promised. The bundle is a great value, and the hard case and uke stand are excellent quality. I play guitar and my 19 year old son has had trouble getting started with that, but within one day he was able to play the popular "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" ukelele cover and a few days after that he was literally rocking matisyahu's "One Day" and sounding great. My son's ear isn't as good as mine, so I grab the uke from him every day or so and re-tune it. The problem isn't so severe you can't get through a few songs, though.

The electronics are fine so far, and it is a beautiful instrument to look at and to play. As a question of good value for a serious beginner I give this uke bundle a strong recommendation.

This combo is a steal. Get it while it's still available.

The uke is very good for a beginner/intermediate instrument - it plays easily, stays in tune, and has a great sound.

The etching is nicely done. Love the mahogany.

The ukulele comes with a standard plastic case that you should probably throw away. The hard shell case provided with the combo deal is excellent. The case and stand together are worth as much as the uke, so this offer is just too good to pass up.

I bought it for my son, and I'm beginning to wish I'd bought two.
