i am a ukulele player myself however this uke sounds like fishing strings on a kala ukulele (not so great) after you first get it tuned you will get used to the sounding and it is a good instrument after a wile of the horrible sounding i finally was able to tune by ear by recognizing the horrible sounds

Ive been playing uke for four years now and got one of these as a gift a few months ago. It is total garbage. Tuners slip constantly and the sound is very tinnish and weak. Look elsewhere for a way to waste $40.

I ordered this and got the $20 Mahalo cheapie by mistake. M.F. sent me this one AND I got to keep the other one ! Suh-Weet Huh ? Well the $20 one has nicer tone than this tinty sounding thing. It projects all the way to my strumming hand & STOPS ! I'm thinking strings may help but I'll play my other one & hang this one for show. It's made well and looks cool, tuners are friction and SUCK(get geared), the gig-bag is white vinyl and the uke fits snug in it and my band mates will crack up when I carry it in and lean it against my Marshall on practice night ! Ok value & looks but no so good sound. If you want a good playing and sounding ukulele, look elsewhere. I'm getting the Ibanez Exotic wood one next or the Ovation electric.
