Comments about Martin 1T IZ Tenor Ukulele:

The IZ is a beautiful instrument and was a great buy. I had to look hard to find the "blemish"; it could have passed for new. The action is easy (it's a tenor uke, after all), and the tone is wonderful. I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm looking for a set of uke strings (G,C,E,A) instead of (g,C,A,E) that the IZ came with. The C string does not sound good when it's tuned down 5 half-steps to G. I think Iz himself tuned the fourth string to the lower octave G.

Comments about Martin 1T IZ Tenor Ukulele:

My first Uke. I was looking for a tenor. This has the dimensions I sought. Perfect for my hands. Plays naturally that is to say feels like second nature. 3rd string buzz up to 6th fret. replaced with new strings from stringsbymail (Craig Brandau mixed low G Savarez set). mixed set with low wound g string brought the tension up enough to almost completely eliminate the buzzing. tuned to low g so it plays more like a guitar. buzz relatively gone. the saddle is compensated and was slightly cut too low on this instrument number 513 hence the buzz. i have heavy hands and a light touch so with the new strings i rarely notice the buzz now. i love how it makes me think differently it is like playing a guitar with two missing strings and that helps my guitar playing. it is so well constructed i just cant' get over it. i gave it 4 stars because, well, 5 is reserved for that extra special lady, ya know... I can tell that this instrument is going to be strait up bonkers as it ages. Seriously. Then it will be a 5. No torrefaction here. I have faith that this is without question a classic Martin instrument. I am amazed. Martin really did a solid for Mr. Iz. Mahalo

Comments about Martin 1T IZ Tenor Ukulele:

These were the ukuleles that I learned to play on durring "summer fun". Just as I remembered, the traditional tuning pegs can be a pain to tune the ukulele with. It has though a lot of sentimental value to me and also am an "IZ" fan.
