I am an experienced guitar player and bought this because the price was right and I wanted to learn to play the ukulele. I am totally satisfied. It is a very nice looking and sounding uke that I think is perfect for a beginner or as a uke to take camping or places where you wouldn't want to take an expensive instrument. Even came with a nice gig bag. It does have friction tuners and you need to tighten the friction screws so that it stays in tune. Also the strings it came with are cheap ones that stretch. For the first couple days I had to tune it often but after that it stays in tune very well. Definitely not a professional grade uke but I am having lots of fun with it.

This uke is useful not only for beginners, but also for a more accomplished musician who wants an instrument to cart about with him that he need not worry too much about damaging.
The uke-style tuners are a bit flaky. Tightening the screws helped considerably.
Generally poor finish. I have a Rogue mandolin and baritone uke in addition to the suprano, and the finish on the suprano is certainly the worst of the lot. There are rough spots, and chipped finish coat is several spots. However, the instrument is eminently playable and from a musical point of view, of fair quality
Despite the characteristics outlined above, because of its low price it represents excellent value.

I would spend more money and get a better one, it is beautiful and if i could tune it i'm sure it would sound great, it just needs better tuning pegs...
if someone had the time and money to replace the pegs it make a great ukulele

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:

First one I ordered, the tuning pegs would not tighten and therefore would not hold any tension whatsoever. Returned it immediately and got a replacement (MF Customer Service was great, btw). The replacement's bridge broke after only a month of use. Completely separated from the body of the uke. My advice: spend a little extra money and get a better quality instrument. Lesson learned for me.

For the price, you just can't beat this. However, right out of the box it wouldn't really stay in tune and sounded well not so great. So I changed the strings - GHS black nylon - and I lowered the action by filing the grooves in the nut. And voila! I love the way this sounds and plays now, it's perfect. It's going to be my "second" that I keep at the office ;-)

I sanded the bridge saddle alittle and filed a few frets.Tuners screws needed to be tighten. But after tweaking it alittle sounds good and fun to play. One most remember this a low cost ukulele.A little work on it if you can do it yourself and it's a good buy.

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:

The nut and saddle must be adjusted (sanded) for the intonation to be correct because the strings are too high above the fretboard. If you can do this you will have a nice uke. Tighten the screws on the tuners, change the factory strings, and lower the string height and you will be pleased with this instrument. This uke is as much fun as my expensive ones!!

Just got this Ukulele a while ago. I've heard folks say it doesn't stay in tune....that's true.....until you play it for a while. The strings are put on at the factory, then it sits in a box. You need to tune the uke and play it a while....the strings will stretch and stay in tune better. Remember, it's not a top of the line uke ! I'll play this till I get better at it and then order a better one !! Well worth the money though !

The tuning pegs must be tightened with a Phillips head screwdriver for the instrument to be tunable. Once adjusted, it plays great!

Comments about Rogue Hawaiian Soprano Ukulele:

The thing to keep in mind when buying a Rogue ukulele is that you do not buy a fully set up pro level instrument. If you know a few things about set up and tweaking, you may actually get a pretty good little uke. Change the low grade tuners into Grover 2b; get rid of the horrible stock strings, and lower the action. Then you will have an inexpensive, sturdy and nice-looking uke to bring along wherever you may want to go. Cheap ukes are mighty cool. They strip you of all pretension, and put a smile on everybody's face.
