Features:

Great starter mandolin.  Haven't tried changing the strings yet but heard it'll make a big difference.  The finish is great and the set up is fine with some minor simple adjustments.

Good buy!

Features:

After playing guitar off and on for over 50 years, this is my first mandolin. I didn't want to spend too much until I decided if I really wanted to spend the time to learn the mandolin. It arrived quickly, packaged well to prevent damage. The only cosmetic glitch was a very small scratch on the pickguard. It plays reletavely well but will be better after I do a set-up on it. Would I buy it again. Yes....I also have a Taylor guitar that has had to have major re-set on it, neck work, etc....so I'm not at all upset about doing minor stuff on this inexpensive mandolin.

Considering the low $ deal on this package - it's ok

Features:

Good entry level mandolin.  Package deal was enticing along with the low price.

Quality:

There are a lot of minor finish blemishes and there are several dings in  the body (front/back) in the mandolin.  Considering this is a low end starter mandolin with the package deal and that the price was low, it's all ok.  I can  live with these imperfections until I'm ready to upgrade.

Value:

Entire package with chord book and beginner's book, bag and mandolin is cool.  It's a starter set after all.  Once I upgrade, I'll give this to a local charity that provides music lessons.

Overall:

One of the E strings was broken upon arrival.  MF corrected this by  sending me a new set of D'Addario mandolin strings. Made a world of difference in  the overall tone. Highly recommend that you replace the strings  immediately to better quality strings.

With all the strings off, I took  advantage to polish the frets, clean/oil the fretboard and then  performed a complete setup (intonation, bridge adjustment (lowered  action).  It made the action much better and the fretboard feels so much  nicer making early playing on this more enjoyable.

Kudoes to MF for handling the replacement strings promptly and without any hassles.  You guys rock.

i got this as a christmas present.

Overall:

it sounds great (for the money) you will have to fix the bridge youreself or take it to a shop but it comes with instructions on how to do it youreself so i did (an electric tuner will help with this)

the chord book is really helpfull but the other book not so much

it sounds great but i would be carefull when tuning it i've read that this mandos front will cave in so

beware.

overall this sounds nice looks good and it comes with case so buy it.

by the way ive read some other reviews and if youre ordering and instrument off the internet its

not gonna come to youre house tuned why would it it just came through the mail buy a tuner duh.
