Comments about Suzuki S-64C Sirius 64-Hole Chromatic Cross Harmonica:
I own a Hohner super 64x, Suzuki SCX-64 and now the Suzuki Sirius-64. The Sirius-64 is a very high quality harp and the best of the 3. The intonation is outstanding. It is to A=442HZ which I am sure will drop down a little the more I play it. In comparison the Hohner is sharp from the factory at 444+ and not all of notes are in tune with itself. I do not file the reeds to tune my harmonicas and so it is nice that the Suzuki has all of the unison notes in tune from the start. When recording the Sirius has a great tone without the need of using an EQ or effects.
I practice between 3 and 4 hours a day. This is my first Chromatic that i have had zero problems with windsavers. The addition of the brass plates on the comb make the notes and overtones very well balanced. This instrument has a great dynamic range. I play mostly classical pieces with the occasional Jazz Standard thrown in. The slide is extremely smooth and the Silver plated mouthpiece is very smooth.
For me this harmonica is pretty flawless. The air tightness of the harp makes all the notes respond instantly. I very happy with this instrument.
