The Washburn B120 has all the looks and tone of a 100 year old banjo.

The Washburn B120 Banjo with a maple resonator, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, plus a distressed matte finish, has a real vintage vibe. The rolled brass tone ring is beautifully detailed with very fine scrolling work. Combine that with the ivory machine heads, old school neck inlays, and bronze plated hardware and you're ready for some serious banjo pickin'.

  • Natural Distressed finish
  • 24 tension brackets

Comments about Washburn B120 Natural Distressed 5-String Banjo w/case:

Just moving up to intermediate level after one year of banjo playing. Been guitar player 40 yrs ! Satisfied with this banjo so far. I have friend with 2 pro level Alvarez banjos and the 120 was as good a sound. Playability was not quite as good but, those banjos were 30 years old.

    another great washburn banjo

Comments about Washburn B120 Natural Distressed 5-String Banjo w/case:

I have just purchased the new Washburn B120 and I am really impressed with this banjo. The quality and finish on this banjo is superb. The overall tone this banjo had right out of the box was great. It came with medium gauge strings which is fine but I prefer light gauge so I can do string bending better when I play.So I changed the strings and set the banjo up to my personal taste(not saying the factory set-up was not good)and the playability became perfect for me.I own about 20 banjo`s,all 1920`s to 1960`s vintage, mostly Gibson`s and Vega`s.This banjo`s tone reminds me of my 1954 Gibson RB100 because of the brass rod tone ring, which I think is great. The Washburn is just fancier looking. This is a great banjo for old time 3 finger style or clawhammer playing.I think it sounds pretty good for bluegrass style playing because it has plenty of volume. The only thing I would change if I were the Washburn company is using a bell bronze flathead tonering like they use on their B16&B17 banjos.I feel this would make it sell better to most people wanting a true bluegrass banjo. This would make a great banjo for an intermediate player and a wonderful addition to a professional players arsenal to have a banjo for getting a more balanced tone for the studio.

    My 3rd Banjo

    By DannyG

Comments about Washburn B120 Natural Distressed 5-String Banjo w/case:

I am an intermediate banjoist, and I have to say after buying this I don't know if I will need a 4th. It is very antique looking, but I can guarantee you it is quite sturdy. I can't count how many bumps and drops I have given this work of art, but it always seems to turn out okay. I highly recoment this banjo for those who are still experimenting and aren't totally sure where thier musical path might take them.
