Not bad

Comments about Washburn M1S Mandolin:

I have owned three relatively inexpensive mandolins in the past 4 months, a Kentucky, Johnson, and a Washburn. Washburn does not even compare to the others. The top split on the Kentucky after 1 month of playing, the music store replaced it with a Johnson F-Style. I took it back after getting it home and seeing what a piece of junk it is. I traded the Johnson for the Washburn which is a well manufactured mandolin. Attention to detail is excellent. Mine has Model MS1/MT, I am not sure if that makes a difference. Sounds great.

Comments about Washburn M1S Mandolin:

I received this a a Christmas present, and it is my first mandolin. I have played guitar for a long, long time, and fooled around with Irish fiddle for awhile, so playing is not a problem. This is a very solid instrument, does not feel fragile at all, and it has a very nice tone. The action on it is very comfortable. It may not be very fancy looking, but I believe it is a high quality instrument for the price.

Great Beginner Instrument

By Jeff-iMcb5

Comments about Washburn M1S Mandolin:

This was my second mandolin, and for two years it was great beginner instrument. The features aren't amazing, I mean it's an A style with awkward color, but the rest is great for anyone getting started. Though it is not the best ever. The Johnson MF-100 is without question 10x better for the price, good price though. Overall a seven.
